  • The Queen's Grandmother, Queen Mary?

I noticed in a British Pathe News film that dear old Queen Mary was in a wheelchair towards the end of Her life. Does anyone know when She first became infirm? One always associates pictures and films of the late dear Dowager Queen Mother with a back as straight as a board and a stern regal look on Her face enough to cause giving someone an epileptic fit if She so chose.

  • Act of Settlement 1701 being discussed as we speak?

A private member's bill is being discussed in parliament presently, which could change the Act of Settlement 1701 to finally outlaw the last piece of State Sectarianism and allow the monarch to marry a Roman Catholic or allow a monarch to become a Roman Catholic. The BBC is reporting a very large public approval of the change. One argument is that it would somehow make the Church of England's position untenable having a Roman Catholic as Supreme Governor of the Anglican Church. I would appreciate considered views. The other change would involve the ending of males taking precendence over females - a change which would mean that The Princess Royal would become third in line to the Throne.

  • Scrubs tv comedy series?

I am not sure which season we are up to in the United Kingdom, but the last batch of episodes had JD with a son and Doctor Kelso had been ordered to retire, only to win a reprieve through the actions of his colleagues and then telling the authorities what they could do with the job. Does anyone know if there is a further series yet to be shown or has Scrubs' final curtain fallen?

  • Archbishop of Canterbury, just returned from Lourdes?

I read that the Head of the Church of England has become the first Anglican Primate to make a pilgrimage to Our Lady's Shrine in Lourdes. I would like to hear if Anglicans view this as a positive action.

  • Old Doctor Who episode?

Could some kind soul refresh my memory and tell me the name of the story in Pete Davidson's era of Doctor Who where the Brigadier meets his future self. I recall at the end of the story they touch and the Blimivitch Limitation Effect is activated: resulting in a massive flash and return to their own timestreams. Sorry if I have offended any purists with my spelling of "Blimivitch!"

  • Anglo Catholics, where are you heading?

With the almost daily fillibustering that is showcasing the Lambeth Conference , I wonder how many Anglo-Catholics will stay in the Anglican Church or start heading to Rome. The Church of England seems to be going from crisis to crisis and the authority of the Church is lessening dramatically..

  • The Church of England - rocky road ahead?

The Anglican Church seems to be head-long down a road to schism over the issue of women bishops and gay clergy. Where will the journey end?

Is anyone else having problems with e-mail on Outlook Express? I keep getting "timed out" even though the time setting is at maximum. Yahoo and Windows Live Mail are fine.
