  • Question about Achilles tendon injury?

I badly strained my Achilles tendon the end of April/start of May and was told to rest it. Because I was in uni and had exams coming up I of course didn't rest it...my GP said I had probably torn a few fibres in it since I had so much pain, and the hospital confirmed this.

A week ago I went to a Jessie J concert and while we were jumping I felt a 'pull' in my calf, but I just ignored it. The next day I was trying to stretch my calf muscle, but I felt like someone had kicked me in the calf, and I heard a little 'pop'. Not a pop as in cracking a joint,it was different. After that, the pain got more intense and I couldn't walk on it for a few days. It seemed to get better, but today I'm in excruciating pain, and I can't walk. My foot/heel/calf has swelled to twice it's normal size, and no creams/massages seem to be doing it any good ):

Is it possible I've injured it again?? The pain seems to be a lot worse than last time, and I have a bit of bruising also. :/ Any help would be much appreciated.(:

  • Question about playing professional tennis?

I'm a 19 y/o female, and have been playing tennis for 2 or 3 years now but without much formal training.

I am physically fit for my age,and have been told on numerous occasions that I'm quite good at tennis. I was just wondering...if I got coaching at this stage, would I make it to professional level?? I'm taking a year out of college to concentrate on tennis, and I'm very dedicated. I know it would take a lot of work, but I'm prepared for it.

    Any advice??

I wouldn't mind if I even made it to national level (here in Ireland) but I would love the chance, tennis is my love along with music.

    Thanks!!
