  • Microsoft Office Specialist certification - Which one should I take?

First I'd like to know if it is a requirement to take all of the exams within the Microsoft suite? Or can I just take as many exams as I wanted?

Second, I have realized that most companies use the 2007 version of Microsoft Excel or Word. However, I purchased a new computer that has the 2013 version, so what version should I take?

    Thank you!

  • How can I obtain my Real Estate License in NYC?

I am currently helping the company I am working for find locations all around Puerto Rico. I am dealing with loads of Real Estate agents, have even discussed the Real Estate industry with them, and have had to do my own research on the topic to find the locations we are in need of picking up. While doing all of that, I have gotten an interest in becoming a Real Estate agent.

So I would like to know the following :

    * How can I become a Real Estate Agent in NYC? What are the requirements? I read I first have to become a salesperson and then am able to become a broker, how does that process go, how much experience do I need to have for each ?

    * How do you initially gain experience ? Can I take some sort of an internship while studying ? How can I get started in a Real Estate Agency?

    * I already have a BBA in Accounting, can I take continuing education classes and take the required courses? Or is their some sort of a certificate program I can take? Or do I have to start from the beginning?

    * Once I get my educational requirements in NY can I obtain my Real Estate License somewhere else?

    Thanks.

I know I have many questions. I just want to make sure I am positive of this change and would like to get started right away.

  • Do you happen to know, any good Buisness Tax preperation books?

    Hi,

I am wondering if you would be happen to know any good Corporate tax preparation books. I studied accounting and am now looking to refresh my Corporate tax filing skills. The book should not only describe the structure but also show you how to actually file the 1120 and all other business tax returns for S corporations and any business really. I am looking for a book that could explain both Small business and large corporations.

Taxes was something I did well on while in school. It has been years since I took those tax classes. My goal was not to become a tax preparer. I was more interested in Financial Accounting, and don't regret it. I now have a pretty awesome job. However, I want to prepare myself now towards becoming a tax attorney which is my next career move. So any information would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks so much!!!!

  • Five days in San Francisco, on average how much would I spend?

Aside from the hotel, car and flight reservations how much should I expect to spend in San Francisco. I am not looking for anything extreme. I just want to have a comfortable visit, being able to go to the city and enjoy the sights and have some common foods. I would probably rent a car. However, should I rent a car or just take BART? the bus/train.

I am thinking that for 5 days I could save up/plan to spend $1000.00 ( in case of emergency) not that I plan to spend $1000.00 , but I would rather over budget than under budget. What do you guys think 5 days in San Francisco would cost ( not including airfare, hotel or car rental)? And should I rent a car or take public transportation? I am told public transportation in SF is a good idea. But I've never been out to California.

    Thanks guys :-)

  • How could I learn how to use the ADP computer software?

How could I learn how to use ADP ( Automatic Data Processing) software? Specifically, the payroll portion of the software.

I am a payroll accountant wanting to learn this very popular software. The company I work for uses a different software, but I want to learn ADP due to its popularity. Don't want to limit myself.

    Thanks!

  • AFOQT, how to study for it?

I have never studied anything about planes or navigation. I know the exam is 12 parts, what exactly are the 12 parts? Also, I was told by a recruiter that they considered applicants with a 3.3-4.0 college GPA but were highly selective so I had to score about 85% on all my exams to be considered? So how do I study for this exam? I'm really dedicated and want to join the Air Force. I would like to score around 90 + on all my exams. So how do I study? What resources could I use?

  • Military Contracts: How do they work? and what exams are taken in order to join the Air Force or Navy?

I was thinking of joining the Navy, then a friend who is in the Navy told me that she thinks I would be better off in the Air Force. It's not the first time I've been told this. So I'm now considering the Air Force. However, I know we need to take entrance exams and vocational exams. I'm not so clear on if the vocational exam is part of the entrance exam. Like is the asvab the only exam required to take? When you walk into a recruitment office, is the exam you take the asvab exam? Also, if I sign a contract with the military I'm aware I would sign for 8 years Military Service, but lets say I signed up for two years active service ( because I am not sure if I'd like to make a career with the military yet) and then decide the military is something I'd like to stay with.... then could I resign for another 4 years on active duty? One last question I almost forgot, how do they determine how you are stationed / based ? How do they determine to send you overseas or to base you domestic? Recruiters love to sell that you get to travel a lot and what not... but lets say I eventually wanted to stay close to home then what could or may happen? Could I be places near to home? I am a woman and graduated college with a Public Accounting BBA so I would be an officer ( I was told an E4, whatever that is) would I be placed in combat?

  • Is this finance or accounting?

Finding IRR, NPV and mortgage rates ... that's all finance in my eyes. Accounting is more generating, analyzing and recording of statements. Like for example: funding a project with 10% equity and the remainder with debt to then find the profits over 20 years ... that's all finance right? That's like debt to equity ratio isn't it? I mean as a accounting student we get a basic understanding of finance ... so I have a basic familiarity of these calculations ... but its finance not accounting.

My boyfriend and I had a disagreement yesterday. He says this is accounting and I say its finance.

  • How could i start to focus on my accounting career?

What types of accounting jobs should a person who studied Public Accounting try to obtain after college? With only little experience. Such as an internship with a small CPA firm, that lasted a semester and a job for two years as administrative assistant that had little accounting duties such as bank recs and expense reports and payroll?

Apart from what jobs, How could a recent graduate get started within the field? Internship positions today are not willing to hire no matter how good you are. Accountants are holding on to positions heavily. So its so difficult to even obtain entry level jobs. So how could I get started after college?

  • What to tell a friend, about her insecurity towards dating a man 20 years her senior?

Okay, so this time I need advice on how to be a supportive friend. My best friend just told me that her boyfriend is 20 years her senior. He actually lied about his age at first. We ( my friend and I) always believed that he was lying. However ; it was pure intuition and not based on evidence or facts. They have been together for about a year and a few months ( I personally don't keep track). Anyway, she came fourth about his lying and admitted that she did love him regardless. That she at this point was already in love.

She did also say, she was worried about his age. By the time she is 30 he will be 60. So how could they raise children together? And if they did manage, by the time the child is 30 he will be 80 ( an elderly man) and should be a grandpa by then. Those are her only concerns thus far. She asked me for support and advice. I told her that she is lucky to have found a man she can connect with, and a man who makes her so happy. He's very supportive of her, he loves her very much. They enjoy a lot of the same hobbies, shows, movies, music, and they both are intellectual people ( of course, his intellect is a bit more advanced) but they are two extremely intelligent people. What attracts him to her, is how caring, loving, and intelligent he is. Honestly, he had us going for a bit. We honestly started to believe maybe he was as young as he initially said he was. But at this point she is 23 and he is 43. What do I tell my friend? She asked for advice and support but I want to be dead on, honest and as supportive as I can. I don't want her to miss out on love, if she has already found it. However her insecurities are a valid point. What do I say/do?

  • Is this a good sign after an interview?

So, I went on a job interview with an investment firm. They asked me many questions about the major I selected in school. Three weeks after the interview, they call me updating me on my status. They tell me no one has been given an offer, but asked if I'd be Willing to relocate, I answered that I would. He gave me two options he said, "Miami or Boston" I answered, " I'd love to go to Miami, however ; if you have a job offer in Boston I don't mind going to Boston."

My question : Is the fact that they called to ask if I would relocate, three weeks after my interview a good sign? I mean usually people start to lose hope by then. What do you think?

  • Magnum or XXL? Whats the best for 11 inches?

My boyfriend has a large penis ( whoever said all Englishmen were small, must have been in the wrong side of England). We have yet to have relations, however; I'm considering it since we have been together for so long ... it may be passed over due. The only thing that frightens me a bit is not getting the right condom size. They've managed to make it so difficult to distinguish between all the sizes and the magnum, XXL . I was told that it isn't so much length as it is width anyway. I know he should be aware of his own size! However, he is sometimes too " cocky " about his own cock. So I don't want to end up using something a bit too large. I've never been with a Guy with 11 inches before. I'm not the type to expect a man to bring his cover up... I have my own just in case he tries to get away with the " I don't have a condom" trick. Anyway ... my boyfriend is just about 10.5 to 11 inches long and 2.5 on width what would be a reasonable condom size for him?

  • thinking about joining the air force, but i need to understand the system?

I am thinking of joining the air force after college. I was told that since I would have a BA in Accounting, I would qualify for the captain program. I am just looking into the military. Needless to say, I don't know much about it. I was thinking about the navy, until someone told me i had to share my bed with 3 girls -_- NO! Then i was told the air force is more woman friendly. They told me the air force takes good care of its people. I could never join the army or USMC, its too hardcore for me. I do however give my respects and appreciation for all branches. I just think the army and USMC ( especially) is too hardcore for me.

Could some one explain the rankings to me? What are the responsibilities of a captain? And what kind of jobs are available in the air force in the accounting field? Also, how is training for the air force? I heard its changed a lot over the years? And how is the military ( air force) lifestyle like? Especially for a woman!

  • From Accountant to Fashion Marketer?

I am a College senior, with just one semester left until I graduate with an accounting degree. However, after so many years in college and seeing accountants at work... I no longer aspire to become an accountant. I see it as a very boring job. All we do is debit and credit, make financial statements and stuff along those lines. I have such a bold personality. People always ask why I would choose accounting. I'm very creative and opinionated, always have been the trendsetter type . So I'm thinking about becoming a fashion marketer. I love fashion, it makes me happy. Ultimately, I want to follow my passion and not just the money. I got into accounting for the money... now I'm paying for it. How would I go about becoming a fashion marketer ? I do plan to work in accounting while trying to transition myself into the marketing industry. Lastly, I am a New Yorker, and if anyone knows of any good marketing or fashion marketing school please let me know of them? I'm trying to find good schools too :-) thank you all!
