Is this a glitch, or another change? Or possibly browser related? Deleted questions still appear in YA profile list.?
In checking back on a person that was posting questions that were violations, I saw that many were still in the list of Q&A on their YA profile page. But if I clicked on them, they went to the Yahoo HOME page, showing they were deleted. Why would they still show up on the person's YA profile page, where people could then see inappropriate images/content? Aren't deleted questions supposed to be completely removed? Any insights?

1 AnswerOther - Yahoo Products6 years agoShould an outdated answer be reported as a violation if the information is no longer correct?
I have had several old answers reported recently. They have been ones where I gave out what was then the legitimate, toll-free, phone number for Yahoo Customer Care, back in the day when there WAS one. Of course, those numbers no longer work, but I assume they are still showing up in searches. With the result, apparently, that my answers are being reported. I know other users have posted the same numbers in the past as well. So, are others having this issue, or just me? And could this be considered a valid report now? Or could this be an honest mistake that somebody new doesn't realize that these are not old "spam phone number" postings. Thanks for any and all insights.

Or once it is removed because the question was answered, does the X disappear for good?
1 AnswerYahoo Answers7 years agoDo the same rules and consequences apply for the new Comments blocks here as for the rest of the site?
In other words, do users have to stay on topic, not call out others, not chat, etc.? Also, if a comment is reported and removed, does the user get a violation email, lose 10 points and get the chance to appeal? Speculation is fine, but personal experience or links to staff explanation or Help page would be appreciated.
5 AnswersYahoo Answers7 years agoDo violations and reinstatements no longer show on our Activity feed on the new format?
I received a violation, appealed it, won, and had my answer reinstated all within the past 24 hours. On the green version, I found the reinstatement notification, because I hadn't done much else since then. So it still showed up. But on the purple format, I cannot find either it or the original violation notification. I do not think they got buried, because I really have few things happening on my list. Which makes me wonder if they simply are no longer posted there. Are the emails the only notification we get now?
2 AnswersYahoo Answers7 years agoHas the amount of time a question stays in voting been significantly reduced?
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=201401...
That question was asked and answered 3 hours ago. It was obviously SENT to voting (only way it can get there that fast) and the Best Answer was chosen within 3 HOURS of the answer being posted. So, has the amount of time for voting changed, has the voting PROCESS changed (as the base question itself indicates may be the case), or is this (another) glitch in the new process?
7 AnswersYahoo Answers7 years agoOn the new version of YA, how are deleted questions indicated in our own lists?
On the old version, deleted questions in our own lists (Watchlist, Starred list, My Questions list) were indicated by being greyed back and unclickable, or had a line through them (mobile).
Now, the greyed back option seems to mean we've already CLICKED on a question.
I know I have deleted questions on my Watchlist, my "Following" list, and my own questions list, but they all appear to be "normal" and clickable. I can't see / tell that they are deleted unless I click ON them and get the "deleted question" message. Is this a glitch or another "feature"?
Because this means a person now can't tell that their question has been deleted for some reason unless they attempt to access it. Is that really the case?
1 AnswerYahoo Answers8 years agoHas the site reverted to a 4 hour wait on choosing Best Answer?
In the "good old days", we had to wait 4 hours. Then, staff changed it to 1 hour to minimize the wait time. I see on the "side bar" of the new layout this:
===================
How to choose a Best Answer
Once your question has been posted for at least 4 hours and has at least one answer click Choose as Best Answer next to your chosen answer. Your question is considered as "reference" when a best answer is selected
===================
Does this mean we are back to a 4 hour wait? Or is this a typo?
4 AnswersYahoo Answers8 years agoIs there no longer a HELP link specifically associated with the Yahoo Answers pages?
The new setup isn't all that helpful, it would seem. There used to be a HELP link, top left, for JUST Yahoo Answers Help pages. Has that now vanished or did they hide it someplace elusive?
1 AnswerYahoo Answers8 years agoDoes the Malaysia site have different open times for questions?
Can we test this to get a definitive answer? The US and other English sites seem to use a 4 day open period. Is Malaysia really 7 days?
1 AnswerYahoo Answers8 years agoDoes adding "and explain why?" turn a chatting question into a valid one?
Is asking "What is your favorite . . . .?" generally seen as a chatting violation?
Does adding the phrase or additional details of "Explain why" make it a legitimate "knowledge seeking" question or is it still considered a violation?
Sources if they are available would be helpful, but not essential.
4 AnswersYahoo Answers8 years agoIs there a way to make a pop-up ALERT window right before logging off a computer?
I need to have an ALERT show up every single time I log off my computer, which can happen a different times of the day. Is there a way to set up this type of alert screen? Where and how? I run Outlook 2010 Version 14+, if that helps, on a Windows 7 platform. I'm semi-computer-literate, but don't have admin access to the computer, if that is needed. I can GET it if I have to.
5 AnswersOther - Computers8 years agoOther than "Manage Search Providers", how can we reset which site is used for our internet searches?
"Ask" somehow set itself up as my 'default' search if I type in the ADDRESS bar (not the Search box, top right) in Internet Explorer. I have set my DEFAULT search provider to Google, but Ask still overrides it. I think there is something set in my start-up, but not sure. How do I find - and CHANGE - this? I do not like Ask!
5 AnswersGoogle10 years agoAny ideas on why Yahoo Answers skipped their birthday celebration in December 2010?
Shouldn't Yahoo Answers' FIFTH year have warranted at least a bit of a blog?
They've done it every year previously.
Four / 2009: http://yanswersblog.com/index.php/archives/2009/12...
Three / 2008: http://yanswersblog.com/index.php/archives/2008/12...
Two and one are unavailable, as far as I know, because they were on the OLD 360 blog, but I know they were celebrated. So what happened in 2010? Did I miss the announcement? And the cake?

8 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoWhy does my laptop now refuse to connect to my wireless Fios?
Dell laptop stopped linking to wireless Verizon Fios last night. The wireless card still works (I linked to an 'unlocked' wireless network nearby), but refuses to link to MY wireless. Nothing has changed that I know of, I'm still within the range of my system. It SEES the network; it simply will not LINK to it. I've tried setting the computer back to an earlier 'system restore' point. No luck. I've scanned with McAfee and MalwareBytes; no malware, virus, etc. Anybody have ANY bright ideas? My on-call techie is off this weekend and I need to USE my laptop! Thanks!
2 AnswersComputer Networking1 decade agoWhy are my items not showing on ebay?
I posted 13 items on ebay 1.5 hours ago using Turbo Lister. They show in my 'Selling' list when I sign in. But they do not show up in 'Search', nor in 'Advanced Search' if I search my name. My linked account shows I have NO items for sale at all! What could be the problem?

7 AnswersMedicine1 decade agoHave the latest updates to the YA site and to our Yahoo Profile (Pulse) changed our 'updates' settings?
My settings have been set to NOT SHARE updates, but when I answer, I now see the 'share update' checkbox checked as default. Did recent updates reset our defaults? Unfortunately, there does not seem to be an option on our Yahoo Answers profile any longer to NOT SHARE updates. Glitch or update?
