  • Front upper mid thigh pain with climbing stairs in runner?

I am experiencing significant pain especially when climbing stairs in my right front thigh (feels like the bone) at about 1/3 down from hip. I started back into running in december and have worked up to 7-8 mile long runs which I do 1x per week. Haven't run in 3 days at this point and pain is not better. No swelling/redness and there are times (walking, sitting) when I don't feel it. Any suggestions? I run and do weekly yoga, so am not all that strong... Maybe strength training?

  • I'm moving across country from TX to FL. Best way?

I don't have a lot of stuff (maybe 3 rooms of furniture worth taking). Honestly, it's probably about $3000 worth of stuff. The full service movers charge around 3500. I am moving by myself so it's going to be hard for me to drive a rental van or even do the driving only services, which are themselves around $2000. I'm considering selling everything and buying when I get there (only taking what I can fit in my car) though this is also a difficult way to go... Any ideas? I have more help in TX than I will have waiting for me in FL, though I don't really like asking people to help me with stuff. I'm thinking that if I buy a bunch of stuff from one store, they might give me a discount and free white glove delivery, etc. It would be ideal if I could somehow buy the stuff here and get it delivered in FL. Just brainstorming... I need the basics for a one bedroom including washer dryer.

  • Dog not using right hind leg.?

My 13 year old dog started limping several days ago and not using her back right leg. This started quite suddenly when she was at home alone, so I'm not sure what the cause was. She does tend to jump off and on things, despite her age, though I try to limit this when I am around. I have been keeping her in a crate now when I am at work and she does seem to try to put it down a little more when she first comes out of the crate. Otherwise she is in good spirits and still trying to climb up and down stairs (I don't let her) and play. She's eating and drinking fine. I give her a baby aspirin 2x/day to try to reduce any inflammation. She's 18 lbs and a terrier mix. Very exhuberant and sweet dog. Would like her to get well. Nothing like this has happened before. Please let me know if you have any suggestions or if you feel she needs immediate veterinary care. Thanks!

  • Spider veins and pale legs. How to make more attractive (other than wearing pants)?

It's shorts season again where I live. I'm going hiking/casual date tomorrow and want to wear shorts, but I have very pale legs and spider veins. The shorts are long enough to cover the majority of the veins, but I still will have a few on my ankle/calf showing. Should I just wear pants? Any tips for making them look more attractive?

  • where to buy a versatile, classic evening dress in San Antonio?

It's for a formal work party - I've heard long dresses are the norm. Where should I go? I'd prefer not to break the bank and to be able to wear the dress again.

  • Need color help. which skirt color to buy? if at all...?

I need some help with color choice on an athleta skirt. I want to wear this to casual date/travel. I'm thinking about "Safari" because it's on sale, but am open to spending a few more dollars on black or asphalt... What's your opinion - I'm the type of person who can easily buy an ugly color when it's on sale, but I think this color may be okay... I'm pale with brown hair and hazel eyes. Thanks!

  • What can I do to alleviate pain to tailbone?

I ride a bus from a parking lot to my workplace. They had a new bus today which had a post in the middle of the plush seat to insert the seatbelts into it. I didn't notice the post, and OUCH landed on my tailbone. I have never done anything like this and the pain was excruciating. It seemed to go away by the time I got to work, but then I sat on the floor to tie my tennis shoes to go running and I sat on my tailbone again - OUCH!! Exact replication of the excruciating pain (and I'm not a wimp). Any idea on whether this is going to go away on it's own? I'm telling myself it's just bruised, but it's the kind of pain that reverberates through your whole body. Any help/advice would be helpful.

  • help me problem solve?

A beloved friend is very sick and is an avid gardener. He asked me to buy what amounts to 30 bags (soil, sand, fertilizer) as well as flowers so that he can start gardening this spring. I can't possibly manage all that. Does anyone know of gardening companies that deliver? San Antonio, TX area.

  • Badger 5 disposal / in-sink aerator leaking.?

I filled the kitchen sink to soak some larger kitchen items, and then when I was allowing the water to drain, it became slow. I turned on the disposal, and it cleared, but then water began to leak from the bottom of the disposal - at both the reset button and one other spot. What needs to be done or where can I go to find out? Can't really use the sink at the moment, which is not convenient...

  • Rash on upper back... pretty painful. Any female joggers / runners experience this?

Hi. I have a painful rash (really burns if something touches it) on my upper back - it looks (from what I can see) like tiny bright red bumps - about 5 or 6 scattered across my upper back. One I scratched, so it's ultra painful and irritated. I think it has to do with my sports bra - and the weather's been pretty warm, though I'm not sure. It's been there about a week and is ANNOYING. I notice it when I lean back in my chair. I've had it before, and it clears up, but it would be nice not to have it again if possible... any ideas? Yes, eventually I'll ask my doctor if it comes to that.

  • Grandmother's knee gives out.?

My grandmother is in her 80's and is a very independent person - one of the reason's I like her so much. She's always been very healthy and taken long walks. However, she's got a longstanding problem with her knee that's recently gotten worse, to the point where she's limiting her walks greatly because sometimes the knee goes out and she's got to grip on to something. She has a walking stick that's helpful when she carries it. I'd like to help somehow, but I know she's not likely to go to the doctor. I asked her once and she told me that doctors don't like old people (I personally know she is the one who doesn't like doctors). Does anyone know of products for older people that look good and actually help? Would a visit to a physical therapist be helpful? There's no way she's having knee surgery at this age. Why do all products for older people look so sterile. Please help - I really hate to see my grandmother dealing with this.

  • Present for thirty something boyfriend...?

I need some ideas for Christmas for my 33 year old boyfriend. He likes gadgets, cooking, and gardening... I'd like the gift to be somewhat romantic. We've been together for a little over a year. I'm also in my 30's and am not very creative. Any suggestions would be great!
