  • Fable TLC for PC, I've finished the final battle but I'm forced to put on the mask.?

I haven't spent hours and hours being a paragon of goodness and virtue to end up putting a bloomin' stupid evil mask on, when my whole purpose has been to destroy it and Jack. I'm not even given the option to say no, my hero just puts the damned thing on. The worst thing I've done is a bit of accidental vandalism and nicking some books for the schoolkids. It's ruined the game for me. Grrrrr!

  • I'm fairly new to video games, but I bought a PS3 a few months ago...?

I've really enjoyed both Kingdom Hearts games, I liked Folklore (although I'm stuck on a level I cannot get past), I REALLY loved Oblivion and I'm now playing Final Fantasy XII (which I'm not quite so keen on play-wise, although I'm liking the story). I'd be grateful for any suggestions on games in a similar vein. I have a 60g PS3 so I can play PS2 and PS3 games.

  • Do you have an embarrassing secret that you would care to confess to?

For example, I shall confess to being 35 years old, female and an avid reader an collector of X-Men comics for the last 16 years. Not the sort of thing you would bring up on a first date. Anyone else care to share?

  • Can anyone recommend a good cattery near South West London?

I had a friend lined up to look after my lovely cat over Christmas, but her boyfriend has just surprised her with a trip to the Caribbean over the same period. Lovely of him, great for her but not so good for my gorgeous cat, Matilda. I've never put her in a cattery before and I'm very worried about it. I'm aware that many are completely booked up, but I'm also concerned that I an only find about 3 catteries with reviews. Any recommendations or personal experiences with catteries would be welcome.

  • Who is the most famous person you have ever spoken to? In real life, that is...?

Posters and yelling at the TV don't count. How did you get to speak to them, what did you say, and do you wish you could rewrite the episode?

  • What makes a serial killer? I know this is rather morbid but I mean numerically...?

I recently read a news article that described a murderer who killed 3 people in one week as a serial killer. For some reason, I think that would be a spree rather than serial killer. So, could someone tell me what is the definition of a serial killer? Does motive have a role in the designation or is it the number of victims? I know this is particularly morbid and a rather unpleasant subject, but I find the definitions slightly confusing.

  • My Outlook email formatting has gone to the dogs....?

I'm having a mini mare. For some reason the paragraph marks have suddenly appeared in my emails and as I have a company signature, this is an issue. I thought this could be resolved through Format>paragraph. Apparently not. Help!

  • Is the Sony e-reader any good? ?

I travel quite a lot and when I'm away I tend to read a book a day - over 2 weeks, this adds up! An e-reader or similar would be very useful as it is much more portable than 14 books, but I have some concerns. I know that the Sony e-reader works in conjunction with Waterstones, but I've heard that there are limited books available. I've also heard that it can be clunky to use and that the "pages" turn very slowly, which would drive me bonkers. I've heard good things about the Amazon Kindle, but this is unlikely to be available in the UK anytime soon because of mobile networking issues. Are there any better options? If I can't download my latest Dean Koontz, Stephen King, Meg Cabot, Janet Evanovich novels etc, this type of technology is not going to be much use to me. Any comments/advice would be welcome.

  • Tell me about your embarrassing moments - here's one of mine....?

When Princess Margaret died, my mother was invited to her funeral. Princess Margaret was the patron of the NSPCC and my mother was an enthusiastic member and fundraiser for many years. In a slightly morbid way, she was chuffed to bits to be invited. Now, the funeral was at Westminster Abbey, my mother lives in the North of England, I live in London. So, I picked Ma up from the station in my clapped out old Polo and drove her to Westminster. It was all going well until my stereo broke. Suddenly my "Pissed off with the World" mix tape (yes, my car was that old... and so am I) started blasting out at full volume. No matter what I tried, it wouldn't turn off or turn down. So I dropped my mother off at Westminster Abbey with the whole press corps there, her wearing her big hat and nice suit and my car blasting out "She fu*king hates me" by Puddle of Mudd at full volume... my mother was not happy, and I was mortified.

    Your turn!

  • I need an unbelievably powerful laptop for CAD drawings. I've been looking at Alienware Area 51...?

I know this is a gaming laptop, but would it be powerful enough for my purposes? To give you an idea, the file that I'm working on at the moment is over 300MB and getting bigger. A desktop PC is no use to me - I travel a lot and the bulk of my design work is abroad - I need a laptop that I can take with me, one that is capable of dealing with full-on photo level rendering, multiple layers and detail. Advice would be appreciated!

  • What are your simple pleasures in life?

The things that make me happy are:

The way my cat snuggles up around my feet when I'm working

Cooking a great meal for my friends that they all love

Bruce Willis in Die Hard mode - yippee kay yay...

    Thunderstorms

    A great vodka martini

Having a really good hair day

    Tim Curry in Transylvanian mode

Checking in at the airport for my holidays and knowing the best is ahead

A pot of tea, biscuits and a roaring fire on a winter Sunday afternoon while watching Poirot

A hot bath, glass of wine and great book all at the same time

Singing along enthusiastically with cheesy old songs and having a bit of a dance, too

There are many more, but what works for you?

  • I pay for pop forwarding from Yahoo - it doesn't work anymore. I can't get logged to any chat rooms either...

this is a continuing problem - everything works for a few months and then it all goes t*ts up. Could someone please explain to me why Yahoo is so continually useless, and brighten my mood by telling me that I am entitled to a refund because the service I signed up for is completely rubbish?

  • I tried to pay a parking ticket issued in February and have just received a letter from a debt recovery agency

The ticket, although issued by a private parking company, was valid. I posted a cheque and accompanying letter back in February. This was returned to me on Thursday last week, at which point I realised that the Royal Mail had delivered my cheque to the wrong PO Box. On Monday, I received a letter from debt recovery company demanding payment for a substantially higher amount.

I did not keep the envelope I received the cheque in, so I cannot prove that I only received it last week. However, I can prove that the cheque was delivered to the wrong address as it is date stamped and was returned with one of the company's compliment slips. The PO box is also very similar to that of the parking company.

Can I dispute this higher charge? Do I have a leg to stand on? Any legal advice would be appreciated... UK only!

  • I need someone to build a website for me...?

I'm looking for reliability and value for money. But, as an interior designer, my site needs to look good; I can't sell my designs if my website doesn't represent my ethos and look as good as possible - appearance is everything! I am dubious of personal recommendations without backup, but I don't even know where to start looking. Any suggestions for sourcing a designer or any recommendations with referrals would be gratefully received. Designers in Central London would be ideal!

  • How can Yahoo defend themselves?

I pay a charge every year for their service (pop etc) but I have been using their chat rooms for nearly 10 years. During that time, I have made a number of friends. It used to be fun. Now, despite the fact that I am giving Yahoo money, I find it virtually impossible to log into a chat room to meet those friends. This evening I have spent 50 mins just trying to log in to meet my friends. If I'm paying Yahoo for a service that they're clearly not providing, should I ask for a refund?

  • The attempt to blow up the Haymarket...?

Was apparently prevented by the actions of a bobby on the beat, who saw a mobile phone on the car seat, recognised the danger, grabbed it and ran as fast as he could in the opposite direction. Is anyone else as impressed as I am by his nerve and quick thinking, which probably save hundreds of lives?

  • I have been using Yahoo chat for years. I use a public profile rather than revealing my email address. But..

all of a sudden, I cannot go on chat using my chosen public profile. It still exists, it's set as a default, but I cannot use it in chat. Why? What on earth is going on? And if I can no longer use this profile, why haven't I been notified? I find it hugely annoying as I'm private about my email address, and as I have been using the same ID for years, no one recognises me anymore now that I have to use my email!

  • Polonium 210 testing...?

I have the worst luck. It started well - I was invited for dinner by friends and had a lovely meal at Brian Turner's restaurant at the Millenium Hotel in Grosvenor Square. We spent the rest of the night in the Pine Bar where I enjoyed a number of excellent vodka martinis. The only problem is that the date was 1st November, which was the day Mr Litvenenko availed himself of the hotel's hospitality.

Consequently, I have been contacted by the appropriate agencies and now have to do a urine test to see if I'm going to start glowing in the dark. I'm not massively worried - I have enough bad habits (those vodka martinis and a fondness for marlboro lights) to already have more immediate health concerns.

However, after receiving the equipment for the urine test (beautifully packaged in a Sainsbury's carrier bag sealed with masking tape, and left under a plant pot in my garden with no instructions at all), I wonder if my alcohol and cigarette intake will affect the results of the test?

  • London is the capital of our country. So why do only Londoners...?

have to pay more council tax for the Olympics? Surely the Games are supposed to be of benefit to the whole country?

I am seething that the cost has gone up already, and Teresa Jowell is casually saying that we shall have to pay for it with yet another raise in our council tax. We have 6 more years before the Olympics start - am I going to have to sell my house to pay my council tax, whilst the government reaps the benefits from the related tourism? And how on earth are the Olympics going to benefit me, personally? Why should I be paying for them?:
