  • How to get an outsider intrested in NASCAR?

As and F1 (and IRL) fan, I'm often told by certain NASCAR fans that I'm watching the wrong racing series. When I ask why I always get one of five answers:

1: NASCAR has a bigger audience.

    2: NASCAR has more drivers.

3: NASCAR has more over taking.

4: [insert driver name here] would totally beat the all those F1 drivers.

    5: F1 sucks!

I hate to say it but these things isn't going to make me want to watch NASCAR. And I have tried, several times.

I want you guys to do a little reasearch on this sport all of you clearly love with a passion and give me some good solid reasons about anything: the history of the sport, the mechanics of the cars, proof about how good these drivers are, etc.

I want to feel like I'm missing out on something big.

Just throwing insults at F1 then not only will you get a thumbs down (scary, I know) but it will also damage my view of NASCAR fans.

You want an outsider's respect then give me a well thought out answer.

  • Watching IndyCar?

Last year after catching Eurosports re-run of the Indy 500 I got intrested in IndyCar (mainly reading the results online) and this year I want to watch it. However I have the problem that I live in Scotland and don't have the channel that shows the races live and eurosport are a bit eractic with they do re-runs. Apart from the podcasts (which I take come out after the race weekend) is there anyway to watch or listen to the races live?

    Thank you in advance.

  • Prepare yourself NASCAR fans...F1 fan here to ask a question.?

During the 1960's Dan Gurney won several races in NASCAR. Infact he won one race 5 years running. NASCAR declared that he was stealling the winnings from the American drivers even though Gurney is an American (even served 2 years in the US army during the Koren War)

That's the background for what I want to ask: Does racing in F1 (which at the time Gurney was doing) mean your not 'American'. And if so why?

  • Next Generation Drivers.?

Why does there seem to be more and more sons/newphews of former drivers? I mean we have: Marco Andretti, Nico Rosberg, Nelson Piquet jnr and Bruno Senna just to name a few.

Why would you even want to be in the shadow of your dad/uncle?
