Kara my cat is having intermittent loose stools - around once every ten days. The stools are large and very watery and smell a lot. For instance she passed some normal small hard stools at 10pm and when I saw her using the tray at 10am this morning the loose stools were the result. Obviously the food is passing thru her system too quickly as she normally has bowel movements ever 24 hours.

This pattern has been set for a few months now. Prior to that she did have loose stools but only every six weeks or so. She has a long history of this and vets have never got to the bottom of it.

There was suggestion she was food intolerant but how can that be if it so intermittent and only lasts one bowel movement? Could it be hairballs?

The loose stools only last for the one bowel movement - sometimes I skip a meal for her after this and she is right as rain and back to normal stools for her next bowel movement.

I have two other cats and never any problems with them. I feed high quality food - wet food is:

If anyone has any suggestions to stop this intermittent loose stool would be much appreciated.

Ciombi boiler works ok but after about half an hour or more it suddenly makes a noise which sounds like vibrating and I can hear the sound also in the radiators. The sound will stop of it's own accord after ten mins or so but sometimes start up again.

I have found if I just turn the hot water tap on for a second it will stop making the noise.

I have bled the radiators twice and no air in them. The system is only two years old and recently serviced.

Any ideas what is wrong? I can't understand why the boiler works fine and just kicks in with that sound after about half an hour - what is triggering that?

I want to lay peel and stick vinyl planks on a concrete floor. The packing says 'porous surfaces like cement and sand screed, hardboard and mdf need a primer' it does not mention concrete but as it is porous and very dusty do I need a primer or sealer? If so what type and what shop in the UK stocks it?

my cat has tested as having struvite crystals in his urine.

Do I put him on Royal Canin Urinary s/o for a while and then try and switch to a good non prescription wet food OR just go the good non prescription wet food right now and hope that will flush out the crystals? note: currently on mix of dry and wet good quality food.

I have just discovered a leaking bathroom basin and water has got under the vinyl planking - the water has travelled an area roughly four feet by two feet as there is moisture under the planks when I pull them up.

The actual subfloor seems non porous - maybe plywood treated with something? What do they use for modern bathroom floors? The house is not two years old. very sold and matt finish. I can see no mold and the leak could have happened any time over past few months. There is not a great deal of water there - it just seems to have mixed itself with the vinyl plank adhesive.

So what is my best solution?

Just spray the subfloor with something or would I have to replace that section?

Can water get under these planks with just plain condensation or would it have been from the leak?

If I do replace the subfloor are what kind of material is best?

Ideally I would want to put vinyl planks down again or maybe sheet vinyl

can you generallly set a freesat recorder to record programmes when you are not watching tv i.e. when you are out or can you only record the programme you are watching (plus one other if you have two cables to your LNB).

so to sum up - can you just tell it what to record - put it on standby - and go to work - and then come home and watch the recording any time you want?

I am trying to fill some gaps in my garden. It seems nearly every plant under the sun is on some of these 'toxic to cats' lists. I already have cotoneaster and just discovered that on one list but didnt see it the time I bought. I bought a Honeysuckle climber this week but just discovered that is one list - on some lists it is not. The cats were quite attracted to it and I have read it is like catnip. It is quite a nightmare trying to find safe plants.

I have decided not to risk the honeysuckle and was thinking about planting it at the front where the cats do not go - but then I would worry about other cats eating it. I already have Ivy out the front but I justify that as in the wildlife sanctuary the over side of my garden it is growing wild anyway. I am worrying unduly or should I just get rid of the honeysuckle?

I have an existing mixer shower - if I wanted to have an electric one how easy would it be to swop over?

Would the plumbing remain and just a question of getting an electrician to install the shower?

at the moment the taps for the mixer shower are at waist height.

New computer with windows live mail. Added my googlemail accounts using IMAP and it has downloaded 50,000 plus messages going back three years into my unread messages folder.

I know how to bulk delete but if I choose more than about 200 it just freezes windows live mail - so how can I get rid of all those messages in a reasonable manner? I did a system restore and deleted online all the messages but windows live mail must have stored them because it downnloaded them all again....

So does this mean when I position the round light casing on the wall the connection bit and cables will be at the bottom and the bulb will screw in there so it will be upright when you look at it? Or should it be hanging down like a normal ceiling light would?

I don;t know a lot about electricty but always follow instructions but to my mind this means if there was water ingress it would drip down into the connections.

double insulated wiring?

I have bought an outside porch light. It says on the instructions the supply wiring has to be double insulated. The pack contains two silicone sleeves - when fitted over the live and neutral wire are these the double insulation - or is there something else needed?

and what do I do with the not needed earth wire?

I have a big dog cage which can hold three cats easily enough, but it has a metal bottom. I am concerned if one of the cats urinates they will just be sitting in a pool of urine the whole trip. How can I make/get or add some sort of double meshed bottom to the cage so any urine would drain through?

I am looking at signing up for broadband here in the uk.

I don;t really need a router but all the packages seem to offer a free router.

I am not keen on a router as just have the computer by the phone line.

So can I use plug the computer into the broadband socket and bypass the router?
