  • Is there anyway to stop Federal Treasury Offset for a defaulted student loan that is 20 years old?

They took a few tax returns several years ago but then I didn't hear anything, now all of a sudden I am on the list again. Considering bankruptcy anyway and this is just another blow. What do I do to get at least some this refund?

  • Florida Three (3) Day Notice - Future Rent - Legal or Not?

I am past due on rent due to being out on maternity leave for 4 months (high risk). Going back to work in a month. Question is, if I am not yet 2 months late, can my landlord deliver a three day notice to me 2 days before the second month is due. For example, the three day is asking for two months rent, not just the one month I am behind. What do I do (and don't say PAY YOUR RENT) - I'm doing my best!!! All I want to know is - Is this legal? What recourse of action do I have. What if I give them the one month that is due right now? Thanks :)

  • Repeat C-Section or VBAC?

After 7 1/2 months of preparing to have a repeat C-Section (already scheduled for Dec. 10), my doctor informed me today at my 30 week checkup that I am a candidate for natural birth this time around.

My question is this...which should I choose to do? Do I have a longer recovery with the c-section but no labor, or do I try to have true labor and deliver her vaginally (with the help of every drug in the house of course).

Anyone have a VBAC or a choice like this to make? What are the pros and cons of each? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

  • Should I stay or should I go?

I have been married for 8 years...together 10. We have a seven year old son and I am 7 months pregnant with our second. Here's the problem. Things have been going downhill for quite a while. In the past ten years, I have been the main breadwinner, with him not holding a job in that time for more than 2 months at a time. He has gotten us evicted, killed my credit, borrowed money from everyone we know (and doesn't even think about ever paying it back) and yet I still stuck by him. For the past several months he has been going out at least 3-4 (now 5-6) nights a week to play pool and hang out with his friends at a bar. He doesn't drink. He doesn't cheat. He just is never home and really doesn't work that much.

After telling him I need a little more attention and nurturing during these last two months before the baby comes, he still chooses going out over staying home and hanging out with me and our son. Now he wants to buy this bar and has pretty much informed me that he will not be around much to help me with the house and the new baby.

We are due to move in 2-3 weeks. Should I just get a place for me and the kids or should I let him come along? He really is just dead weight at this time and I'm sick of waiting up till 2am every night just to make sure he gets home safe. I'm really not in love with him anymore, but I worry about the impact a separation/divorce will have on our children. I also don't have the money for a lawyer (neither does he obviously). What should I do? I'm not afraid of raising these children on my own. I have a good income (when I go off maternity leave that is) and I'm sure we can make it on our own, even though it will be an uphill battle. Any advice would be appreciated.

PS...I have my first counseling appointment next week. I feel it will help me through whatever I decide. Thanks for the input.

  • Question about Credit Repair/Debt Settlement?

I have a bunch of negative, but unfortunately accurate, items on my 3 credit reports. They range in amount from a stupid little $28 to a whopping $6300 auto loan that is from 1995. What do i pay off? What do I dispute? Who do I contact first - Credit Bureaus for dispute or Creditors/Collection Agencies for settlement for removal? Will they really remove it from my reports? Do I deal with the the original creditor or the collection agency that is reporting it to the CRAs. My total debt is only about $11000, do you think I can turn my credit around? If so, how long do u think it will take? My scores are in the 540 range.

  • In what order should I pay off my credit report items? Oldest first? Lowest amt first? To best raise my score?

Looking for the quickest way to raise my score and improve my credit. What if they won't remove item and only mark as PAID? Will this still help?
