.I received job offer via letter of employment. Job required my moving to new state and company was providing housing. Was to start this monday. I resigned from my job, rented my home and was counting the hours to my departure. Today, three days before my start co calls says sorry we are cancelling offer. Sorry doesnt begin to cover my loss of job, home and trying to get new place. I live in a state w horrible unemployment so getting a job will take months [I work in highly specialized field] IF I find anything close to what I was making. Do I have any legal recourse?

Had argument with boyfriend. He left leaving his things.Trying to talk to him to work issues out and/or return his clothes, computer, ipod etc for a few weeks. But he wont talk to me. Call his number, lines picks up he doesnt speak, nothing is said, then line hangs up. Or, I get voicemail so I dont leave message just hang up. Ive called yes on and off at different times bcs Im hurt, want to talk. Now someone is trying to serve me with a summons. I have no debt or problems with anyone so only person cld be is him. I dont want his things and hes made not attempt to get them. Could wanting his things or calls where nothing is said and no messages are left be enough for a lawsuit or summons? I wasnt home so summons wasnt left but I believe its for the above.

Letter was received March 6 I sent certified letter Mar 8 asking for information about the debt. No answer so sent another certified letter on April 3. I received my proof of deliveries so they received them. No response to either letters. Instead today they tried to serve me with a subpoena. I didnt answer the door. Werent they supposed to provide details of debt before moving to subpoena? Can they provide answer with subpoena? What happens if I dont accept subpoena? Txs.

msg came out of blue no fight argument disagreements ever. text said DO NOT CALL ME - DO NOT TEXT ME i was so surprised i did reply w one msg Huh what happened? sat get email - not a call - asking me to let him know if all ok as had rcvd 200 txt messages and over 45 calls fr me fri before he sent text - neither of which is true, something i have never done. nothing fr him today. i dont have the heart to respond to the email as im so confused. this was a committed relationship of 8 mos talking about getting engaged and married in 08. now this outright lie about the msgs and calls followed by wishy washy email. i realize he cares little about me to do something so cruel as breaking up w me via text instead of face to face. then the silly excuse. know im better off wo him but im my heart is broken - cant sleep eat. i was so wrong about him he lied wasnt the person i thght. pls advice how to move on...

we were together for three years and many things happened over those years. i was an idealistic optimist who wanted to believe in the inherent goodness of people so i forgave him many times for the things he did. he basically shattered my ideals - to say nothing of my heart - and now i find myself saying "why bother the next one will probably do the same". how do i move past these ideas? more and more i find myself wanting to stay in and stay away from people. at the same time the silence, emptiness and loneliness is overwhelming. thanks in advance for your advice.

background info: my bf called me asked me to go to his house. we were talking in front of his house which turned into argument. just a disagreement not physical or violent. he started saying he was going to file a restraining order. i didnt do anything to him or his property - we were JUST talking. we were in my car parked on side street then moved to his stoop then to sidewalk. i have proof hes called me and vm msgs to back that up. can he get a restraining order just because of a disagreement? will i be arrested? will i have a record?

Theres enough equity in the house to be able to live for at least 5 years at a comfortable level. I would be able live my dream of going to college, attend classes fulltime, concentrate on aviation school and get my degree within 2 years. I would graduate with a commercial pilots license but am uncertain as to what my salary or job prospects would be. I live in a hot housing market where I can no longer afford to buy a house thus my question.
