  • Why are GB:RMG shares in free fall?

I've noticed Royal Mail shares which were in the 600p mark for ages suddenly drop nearly a whole £ to almost 500p in the last few days.

Has there been something on the news that I missed?

  • Unpaid CCJ Insurance?

Does anyone know of any insurance companies that protect against my debtor not paying his debts?

    Just to be clear:

Let's say I need work done on my property and I hire a tradesman, the tradesman botches the job and I take him to court and the judgment comes in my favour so the tradesman owes me money but then refuses to pay his debt.

Is there any insurance that can be taken out where the insurance company reimburses my loss.

Standard family legal protection will pay court fees etc to take the debtor to court but once the court has found in our favour they don't seem to insure against the debtor not paying or not being able to pay.

Perhaps someone who works in insurance can help me with this.

  • Plz help with "at" command in Windows Vista command line?

c:\> at hh:mm cmd /c java c:\test1 ^> c:\...\desktop\output.txt just puts a blank text file on my desktop. However the exact same line without the at hh:mm will run the java program and redirect the output to my desktop just fine.

To make life easier I put the class file on the root directory.

Can someone please help me figure out why, when the java class file is interpreted directly from the command line the output is redirected just fine but when it's scheduled using the at command the output seems to disappear into a black hole. More importantly how do I get the java program to run and send the output to a text file at a scheduled time from the command line using the at command?

If it's any help when I schedule it to "type" or "dir" that redirects the output just fine.

  • Ethics of the death penalty, who is served?

I come from a country where we don't have the death penalty and I personally don't approve of the death penalty, I was just wondering whose interests are served by lethal injection?

If the death penalty served the interests of the victims shouldn't the convict's death be as painful and drawn out as possible?

If the death penalty is to act as a deterrent, shouldn't it be in a public place so the genearl public (age restrictions should apply) can see and be horrified?

If the convicted criminal's interests are to be served shouldn't he not be killed at all?

I am pretty sure that what they're trying to do is balance the interests of the state, the victims and the convict but this balancing act seems to serve nobody's interests. I feel sure that in states of the US or other countries that have the death penalty these ethics are debated at length and someone should be able to give sensible answers.

  • What are the different types of Judaims?

I am teaching my son about religion - starting with Judaism. All he knows so far is that there are different religions and I taught him the list, Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Sikhism and Buddhism (I told him there are many more but this list will be enough for now). I'm starting to teach him more about Judaism and I was thinking of teaching him that there were six types of judaism (namely, Chasidic, Orthodox, Conservative, Reformed, Liberal and Progressive). Is this list accurate or have I misunderstood the Judaism101 website I've been reading e.g. are two or more types of Judaism on my list the same teachings by a different name or are there any others that should be on the list that I have missed?

  • Comments on the Badman report?

Where do you think the government should draw the line between the rights of parents and the government's responsibility to ensure the safety and well-being of children?

If you haven't heard of the Badman report click here:

The summary is from an non-government organisation called Education Otherwise, a charity supporting the rights of home educating families.
