    Break or sprain?

(The picture isn't the best, but it's the best I could take)

So on Thursday I was at practice and a college girl struck a ball hella fast and I saved it (I'm a goalkeeper), but then my hand/wrist bent backwards and *might have* popped. There was an immediate weakness and sort of numbness in my hand after the impact. I took off my glove and it was already starting to swell and hurt.

4 days later, I still feel pretty much the same amount of pain. Moving my hand backwards hurts a bit, and I can still rotate it with minuscule pain. However, gripping anything hurts, and balling up a fist hurts, and pressing the tip of my middle finger to ANYTHING hurts the most. The pain is being felt around the area or in the area of the carpals. It's like a dull/stabbing pain that extends to my pinky area. However, my pinky doesn't hurt when I press on it. Pressing my palm to anything makes the back of my hand hurt as well.

The lump of bones found in both of my hands is sticking out much more than usual too, as seen in the picture.

I'm getting it checked out, but I need your input. Is it sprained or broken? Thanks!

  • Wrist/Backhand injury? URGENT?

Two days ago during soccer practice (I'm a goalkeeper) some college girl struck a ball hella hard and I tipped it over, but my wrist bent backwards and I may have heard a pop. Immediately after the impact, my hand and wrist became weak and a bit numb. I tried to bend it backwards, but I could only go so far until my whole hand started shaking. I have a pretty high pain tolerance but it hurt pretty bad.

It hurts mostly around the area of that big bone in the center of the back of your hand NEAR your wrist, not on your wrist, you know? It's sticking out more than usual, but it's masked by the swelling that started immediately after impact. I'm just wondering what the injury is because I have important tryouts coming up on Wednesday. Thanks!

  • Getting tattooed as a minor?

What are your thoughts on minors getting tattooed? Are you against it? Neutral? Don't care?

If you're neutral, are there any factors that would help you decide whether or not the minor should get tattooed, such as maturity level and meaning of the tattoo?

I'm just curious about your thoughts. :)

  • Is this a good diet for 14 year old active girl?

I'm 5 feet 7 inches and 144.6 lbs. I exercise every day of the week, usually 3-4 days cardio and weight training, and the others days just cardio, sometimes from soccer. I'm looking to cut fat and gain muscle so I can be ahead of other goalkeepers.

I allow myself 1,400 calories a day. If I work off, say, 500 cals, I try to eat those calories back (with healthy foods obviously) so I don't end up in a dangerous caloric deficit. My macros are 40/30/30 (protein/fat/carbs) but I usually end up around 40/35/25.

I don't know if I'm eating enough for a growing body or not. I monitor my micronutrients as will to make sure I'm getting almost everything I need. I just don't know if it's enough or too much for an active 14 year old girl.

    Anything helps. Thanks!

  • What SCARY/SUSPENSE movie am I thinking of?

It is a more recent one (2010-2013 I believe?) I think it's where this couple or something goes on vacation to a different country I believe and the children there are all trying to kill or torture the couple. What movie is this?

  • Where to sell old soccer gear? (Not through anything like eBay)?

  • Constant knee pain? Help!?

I play competitive soccer, and I have constant knee pain. If I'm walking up or down a hill of stairs, it hurts. If I'm just sitting, knee bent or straight, it hurts. When I'm running, jumping, etc. it hurts (not as bad) even with a knee brace on. It hurts the most when squatting or kneeling down, then returning to a standing position after doing that. It doesn't hurt to touch, and seems a bit swollen right under the knee cap. The pain is dull and achey when sitting, but is a sharp pain that pulls when I do everything else. What is my injury?

  • Good practice gloves for turf?

My team practices on turf 95% of the time, so I need good goalkeeping gloves that will stay pretty durable on turf. Also, they NEED to have fingersaves/ortho-tec, whatever you call it. I've seen some Reusch gloves that meet this criteria, but I need opinions. Finally, the glove has to be under $80.

  • Did I fracture my rib?

I was playing soccer today as a goalkeeper, and I made an extension save (jump and dive horizontally) and I landed on my shoulder and chest. I then made several saves with direct blows to my chest. Now it hurts to move and it's on the right side of my chest (your left looking at me facing forward). I'm in Hawaii for regionals so I don't really want to have to go to the hospital unless its absolutely necessary. It also hurts to cough and laugh.

  • Are good grades thr important?

I'm finishing up finals in 7th grade. (Middle school, junior high, secondary school, whatever you call it) I had a 92% in Spanish and just got an 85% on the final... I don't know how much it was worth my final grade but I don't want to get a B. I might have gotten a B on the math final too, and I was at a 94%. Finally, I took the science test, and I had a 93% in that class, and I don't know how I did.

My question is, are straight A's THAT big of a deal? I don't want to get a B and disappoint my parents, but I did everything I could to prepare. (All of the stuff on the math test wasn't on the study guide, and same for half of the questions in Spanish). I just don't want my parents to be mad...

  • What position should I play?

I'm 13, and play for the best team in my state. Tryouts are this weekend. I don't know what position I should play. I really want to play one position, but I'm not sure if its an option.

I have played in the field since age 4, playing forward or center mid. I have a great mind on the field, have decent speed, and can make amazing passes. My shots are still building up as I recently broke my foot, but they were pretty good before the incident.

The past year, I have played some games in the goal and have been taking private goalkeeper training. I always save the penalty kicks for my team (in game and shoot outs), because I just KNOW where they're going to shoot. I played goalkeeper for ODP. I am really good following the rhythm of the shooter and cutting down the angle of the shooter. I am great at basic handling and I only dive when ABSOLUTELY necessary. On top of that, I have really quick feet.

My coach really likes me in both positions and had me split time this past season. We already have a goalkeeper, but I feel I'm better than her and really want to play full time in the goal. What should I do?!

  • What sport is the least physically exertive?

I think it baseball. Half the time they're just sitting in the dugout or standing on the field waiting for someone to actually hit the ball. You can be hella fat and play the sport. At least with soccer and lacrosse you run pretty much the whole time and you are allowed to make hardER tackles. (Sometimes male soccer players are fags and dive though, I will admit). Baseball's just physically easy. What do you think?

  • I don't have full range of motion in my shoulder?

In 2nd grade I fractured my clavicle but I think it healed a bit weird. I'm now in 7th grade, and every time I try an overhand kind of windmill like throw (won't use proper terminology as you may not know what I'm talking about) my shoulder can't move so my arm goes straight. I can only really throw from a side-arm position, like a baseball player would throw to a baseman. I can do it slowly, but I need it to be quick and it hurts doing it quickly. What's wrong with my shoulder?
