We recently had to transplant a small weeping pussy willow tree. We had septic system issues and the tree had to be moved. We transplanted it the same day, used MiracleGro when we watered it in and have been faithfully watering it since. With the hot, dry weather we know this was not the ideal time to do this but we'd really like to save it if at all possible. All of the leaves are now dried up and will probably fall off. Anyone have any idea what we can do to help the chances of this tree surviving? Or any idea of how good of a chance it has of surviving? It's such a pretty little tree and we really hate to lose it.

Are there any Shiba Inu fanciers out there?

Below are some pics of my Shiba Inu, Kasey. Her coat color is called red sesame. A few years ago I was at a dog show and asked a breeder with Shibas why it's so rare to see a red sesame Shiba being shown. She told me that to be shown they must be a true red sesame and that most either have not enough or too much of a percentage of the black-tipped hair that makes a sesame. So, I'm just curious. Anyone know if my Kasey is a true red sesame? I realize it may be difficult to tell from photos. No matter, she's gorgeous and we love her dearly.

Our dog killed a bat yesterday. Really I think the bat was already dead or half-dead when she got it. She did draw blood so I'm sure she got some in her mouth. She is up-to-date on her rabies vaccination, just had her yearly booster in July. So that should protect her if the bat was rabid, right? I just want to be sure. Thanks!

I'm just wondering if I'm saying it correctly. It's a name I really don't like, it just doesn't sound nice to me. I see in posts here that quite a few do like it. So, what is the correct pronunciation? Maybe a different pronunciation will change my mind on it.

This is something I'm just not familiar with. Step-by-step instructions would be very helpful. I'm using a computer with Windows XP, plus I've downloaded WinZip so make the photo files smaller. Is there a way I can zip several photos, put them into one file and send? This is for business purposes and I'm getting very frustrated! HELP!

I live on a farm and we have barn cats. They love to use my flower beds as their "litter box". Eww! Aside from that just being gross, they stir up the mulch and make a general mess of things. I don't want to harm the cats but I do want them OUT of my flower gardens! Any ideas?

I have a 4yr. old red sesame Shiba Inu female named Kasey. She's been in our family for 3yrs. now and we're not sure how we lived without her. She's such a cutie and is an absolute "velcro dog", as in she must be wherever we are when we're home. She's fiercely independent and fiesty. She keeps us laughing and VERY active as she needs lots of exercise to burn off all of her energy! We love the breed because they're sturdy dogs and are a nice size, not too small, not too big, they're very intelligent(sometimes a bit too much for their own good!), are very clean, and don't to alot of unnecessary barking.

I was just wondering if anyone else in "Yahoo Answers Land" is owned by a Shiba. If you are, what are some of your favorite things about the breed and your "baby" in particular?

Yesterday Henry Daniel Moder was born to Julia Roberts and husband Danny Moder. Also, born yesterday was Sam Alexis Woods, daughter of golfer Tiger Woods & his wife Elin.

What do you think of the names chosen by these celebrities for their new bundles of joy?

I LOVE the name Henry Daniel. It's two of my fave boy names put together. Sam Alexis I don't care for much. Alexis isn't a fave of mine and I think Sam should've been a more formal name like Samantha or Samara. Overall though these are both pretty decent names.
