  • Recovery disk 32-bit/64-bit?

I went to order a recovery disk from the Toshiba site. For my model/serial number, the option

    came up for " SW Media - DVD-Satellite-A210-Win Vista 64bit Home Premium-EN".

I have Vista 32-bit OS. Will this work, given that it's supposed to be geared to my exact model and serial number? Or do they not offer a recovery disk for 32-bit? Thanks

  • Does wired override wireless?

A friend has a new laptop with built-in wireless. She has no ISP, but

can easily access the internet because her wireless card is obviously picking up a signal somehow. I have ordered DSL for her so that she has her own ISP and have ordered a Modem, not a Router, because she doesn't care if she is wireless or not.

My question is...after I have installed the DSL software, etc. and attached her laptop to the modem, etc. wll the laptop default be to

use the wired connection to the modem, or will it continue seeking using the wifi internal card. Should I disable the wifi. I want to make sure she is only connecting through her own ISP and DSL. Thanks

  • electrical outlet doesn't work?

I have a two-socket electrical outlet in my bedroom which worked fine.

Now, the bottom outlet doesn't work, but the top one does. What could have caused this? Thanks

  • External Wireless card Power Light?

    Hi.

Should the power light on an external wireless notebook card go on as soon as it's put into the slot, regardless of whether any software has been installed or configured?

I bought it second hand and want to have some idea as to whether it's just not working, or if there's something more I should do. (even after I install the software it doesn't work, but that could be a be something I've done incorrectly).

    Thanks
