  • What do you think of Match dot com?

The dating website. It is effing useless and I wanted to let you know so you don't waste your money on it! I think the problem is that it's overrun by dirty old men/pervos which detracts from the geniune guys.

  • VW Golf 2005 Alarm Problem?

The damn thing keeps going off in the middle of the night, annoying me and my neighbours.

I've tried deadlocking the car without activating the alarm. However, it still goes off! Only solution has been to leave the car unlocked.

    Some suggestions I've found:

Low battery, close air vents inside the cabin, water trapped near battery..

    Any other thoughts?

  • Trying to find the name of a song?

Heard it in House of Fraser today. I'm not a big music fan but the lyrics we're something like 'I'm going out, if you let me.. I'm going out, if you tell me". (These might not be the correct words but I've forgotten)

It was a sort of dance track and a fairly recent one I think.

  • Gordon Ramsay Shortcrust Pastry problems?

His recipe is 250g flour, 1 egg, pinch of salt, 125g unsalted butter and 90g caster sugar.

I dont have a food processor so I made it the tradiional way, then wrapped it up to rest for 30mins in the fridge.

When I came to roll it it came apart far too easily. I started again from scratch and the same thing happened.

I'm totally f***** off with it as I've wasted two hours and will have to wait until tomorrow!

What went wrong? I've made pasty before but usually with icing sugar not caster sugar. Do you think this was the problem?

I'll be switching back to my tried an trusted Marco Pierre White pastry method which has worked well in the past. F*** you Gordon!!

  • Can I get a mortgage to buy my shared ownership flat outright?

I own 60%, the housing association the other 40%. I bought the flat at a full market value of £150,000 in Feb 2007.

Through my existing mortgage I have paid off about £13,000 of the £90,000 borrowed. I'm 3 years into a 5yr fixed rate deal with Santander.

I'd like to buy the remaining 40% as my income has increased to £41k. The value of the flat is probably £145,000 to £150,000 so I'd need an extra mortgage of £58,000 to £60,000.

The question is, can I get an additinal mortgage through lenders other than Santander? e.g. HSBC or somehwere else? Or do I have to have the two mortgages through the same lender? Would HSBC insist on having a 10% deposit even though I would have the deposit through another lender?

I have about £5,000 I can put towards the purchase, e.g. £1,000 legal fees, £2,000 to give me an overall 10% deposit (£15k of say £150,000), and £2k for arrangement fees and survey.

    Any mortgage advisors out there?

  • relationship with work colleague?

I have been getting on well with a woman at work recently. We often go for a drink together after work (just us). A few weeks ago I told her my true feelings and we kissed but she said "oh no, i was dating someone from work recently and it ended badly.. I'm not sure this is a good idea"

She still flirts and texts/emails me quite often.

It's driving me nuts as I have asked her to go on a date 3 times now and she keeps avoiding the issue. I dont want to be just friends as I really like her and I know she likes me.

    I am 31 and she is 32.

Any ideas how I can persuade her to come on a proper date?

BTW, we dont work in the same team and sit on separate sides of the office so it's not like we are in each other's faces all the time. She seems really self concious about 'what people think'.

  • Song I heard in the gym?

I heard it in the gym this morning and now I've forgotten it. It has the words 'Feels so good' I think and is sung by a woman.

It's a dance track and a recent one. Can't be more than a year old.

    Any ideas?

  • Just watched Cops on Camera?

I just watched it and some of the charges/punishment doled out by the courts were laughable. It's no wonder the UK is going down the drain.

These scum bags / ASBO yobs should be banged up for 6 months and made to do hard labour. Agree?

  • Question for girls/women?

If you were single and asked a work colleague out for a drink (not on your own but with a group), would you only do this if you were interested in the guy?

I'm just trying to get an idea of the likelihood if this woman likes me or not. Basically we work in different departments but have had a few meetings and done a bit of project work together. We are about the same age (31/32).

I asked her out for a drink but she ended up bringing a friend! I wanted it to be just us and now I'm confused whether shes actually interested or not.

  • Workplace stress and overcoming it?

I work for a large company and have responsibility for one member of staff. Unfortunately, that member of staff has never done the job before and it is not a job that you can learn overnight. They joined the team about 5 months ago having worked for a different part of the organisation for 2 years.

A lot of the job involves project managing projects and resolving day to day issues.

I am really struggling to find tasks for them to do and they are starting to complain that they dont have enough to do. Whenever I explain something that needs doing I always seem to end up doing it which just eats into my own time. I have less time to meet my own deadlines and often have to sort out issues that crop up out of the blue.

I just googled 'workplace stress' and I can identify with most of the symptoms: lack of sleep, sore throat/ilness, headaches, feeling depressed.

My managers dont seem to appreciate my workload. A further complication is that we have just gone through a restructure which means I had to have an interview to keep my job. I managed to pass.

I'm at my wits end trying to find things for my junior collegue to do! It's a nightmare.

  • Have you ever started dating someone who has been a friend for years?

What I mean is, lets say knew someone for 2 or 3 years and all of a sudden started seeing each other. Have you held a secret crush and finally got a chance to show your true feelings?

I just wonder if this happens that often.

I like someone at work but she is rarely single which has stopped me ever making a move. Now she is obsessed with some guy who works in america and cant see that often. I see her all the time at work. We instant message each other all the time but then again she is popular and does the same with a lot of guys.
