can you please think of a really good metaphor?
Okay so for an art assignment I had to choose an object from a poem and draw it. Then I had to choose a metaphor for that object and draw it. Then I had to choose a metaphor for the first metaphor. So here's what I have: Object: Tree Frog (tree frogs are poisonous and frogs in general have a fairy tale quality, so for my metaphor I chose...) Metaphor #1: Poisonous apple Metaphor #2: ????? So what can I draw? Thanks!

4 AnswersHigher Education (University +)7 years agoanyone care to help me with this dilemma?!?
I want to earn a bachelor's degree in veterinary technology BUT the only two colleges in my state that offer that program is community colleges. What's wrong with that? I want to go to a 4 year college and live the "real college life" plus.. I don't even live near those community colleges. So the question is: should I go to an out of state 4-year school that does offer that program or should I make it work going to a community college.
I think the only problem with going to an out of state school is that it's expensive and traveling may be a difficulty. Oh and with a community college - I don't wanna have to live at home and commute or live at a family member's house and commute! I want to be able to live in densely populated dorms where socializing is always possible!
By the way I am a freshman in college right now so I kind of need to make my decision pretty soon bcuz I'll have to transfer schools.
Thank you!!

1 AnswerOther - Careers & Employment7 years agowhere was the bible and other holy books kept before the printing press was made?
Before the printing press there was only one copy of each right? And what if it was translated to different languages, and some parts were lost or altered...
Did you ever conside that?...
Sorry, don't mean to offend anyone. Just completely curious.
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoAtheists: Do you ever WISH you believed?
Think about it, theists have a massive book backing them with advice and reassurance. I've seen people become completely happy and enthusiastic when they are involved in their religion. I've seen religion change people for the better. Religion gives people infinite hope. Now atheists, I don't want an answer that falls along the lines of "I'd rather not be ignorant" because in my scenario, we are supposing that we are already ignorant. Ignorant people don't know they're ignorant, that is the cause of their ignorance!
Ok, now that I've made that point, don't you think it would be great to know that there is someone watching over you, guarding you. And that even after death, you are united with this someone?
I hope I made my point clear! Sorry if I didn't :/
16 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoHave you ever thought about forgetting your traumatic experiences and misfortunes because LIFE GOES ON?
Not sure if I'm wording this correctly. I'm trying to make a statement that although stuff happens, isn't it in your favor to forget and move on? Obviously, you can never literally "forget". However, it would do us some good if we looked at the positives instead? Like, there are literally more good things outweighing the bad in one's life. Thinking about one part event keep you from doing A LOT of things that may be good. For example, one's leg me amputated but they still have a functioning heart, brain, liver, etc. I'm guessing what I'm saying is that we should focus on the positive....
And now this is turning into some cliche quote...
Eh. Oh well. Hope you guys understood.
5 AnswersPhilosophy7 years agowhat was your strangest most interesting & persistent speculation as a child?
Here's mine:
The way we are able to observe insects in their little world, there was some sort of creatures with view of us that we are completely oblivious about. Not necessarily extra terrestrial life. At one point, the microscopic world (bacteria, gases, atoms) were completely excluded from our knowledge. I used to wonder if there was a sort of force or species of creatures that were immensely more intelligent than us. (Again, I'm not speaking of a green little alien. Something completely unimaginable).
9 AnswersPhilosophy7 years agodoes it bother you that we'll never know where, why, when, or how we human beings came about?
I'm informed of the Big Bang Theory, however before that was the theory of Fission, Co -Formation, and Capture. The Big Bang Theory can never be proved or disproved.
For the religious folks : I'm sorry, but if you're gonna tell me your God created us, at least provide me with HOW. A Human cannot 'speak ' and it just appears. That sounds like paranormal business to me & I don't believe in magic.
The World is extremely complex, there are new theories, organisms, and facts being discovered each day. For example, I could write a 500 word essay on the number '4' alone because each and everything is elaborated to a far extent.
Also, why are there different races of people and which are the earliest ones?
Thanks for answering!
26 AnswersPhilosophy7 years ago(I'm asking again) An interesting scenario for religious & anti religious folks!?
An interesting scenario for religious & anti religious folks!?
Imagine someone raising a child in "wilderness". No technology. They hunt/harvest for each meal. They know nothing of war, religion, other races, or other civilizations. Now imagine WHEN THEY BECOME AN ADULT, you present that person with the Holy Bible or another holy book. How would that person react? How would they react if they were asked to adopt the religion?
Give me detailed answers!
P.S.! Forget the petty details such as: if the person would be able to read/understand it. Let's just say yes & get that out of the way because that it truly irrelevant to my main question.

2 AnswersBiology7 years agodid he like me or what?
Long story short...
I met a guy at a volunteering shift. I just assumed we would just do our work and not talk. I was totally surprised. He seemed intrigued by me. We talked about the music we like, our sports, where we grew up, our relationships. Each time he would take the conversation further, I would still be shocked he wanted to talk at all. I definitely felt some vibes and he had that expression on his face like he was really interested.
As my shift ended, I sort of just said "well, that went by faster than I thought. Nice talking with you, goodbye" I smiled warmly than left.
If he was into me (we talked for about 2 hours!!) Why wouldn't he ask for contact info at all?
So confusing
4 AnswersSingles & Dating7 years agopoll/survey: how many colleges did you apply for/going to apply for?
I've applied to 6 and my mom thinks it might be too much... but it can't hurt right? I feel confident at least half will accept me, then I'll go from there in order of top choices. I just want to feel secure & have open choices. Did you apply for ONLY your dream school? How many colleges accepted/denied you?
2 AnswersPolls & Surveys7 years agohelp me choose a career please?
I'm entering college in the fall and I'm still UNDECIDED!
1. A photographer (do photography for a magazine or newspaper & sell work on the side)
2. A culinary nutritionist (do catering, preparing vegan/healthy meals)
3. Be a nutritionist in a hospital facility or something similar
^^^ These are all the career paths I can thinkof that I'm interested in.
I'm also interested in: Biology, Theology, and Animals. So if u can think of something related to those that could be made into a career... By the way, I would not like to be a teacher or educator.
1 AnswerOther - Careers & Employment7 years agoPLEASE SOMEONE GIVE ME AN HONEST OPINION ON THIS POEM I WROTE :)?
You sense my presence
And I am aware of yours
We remain mute
Or once in a while, I surrender a curt “Hi”
Reluctantly, you acknowledge my presence, my existence
With your indifferent monotone reply
No eye contact
No interest in further conversation
Pretend as you do
It’s quite obvious
Let any other person speak to you
Your stepfather
Uncle
Nephew
Neighbor
The pizza guy
As pictures in a slide show, you’ve shifted
Listless to delightfulness
Bored to vigorous
Just as sudden as the weather
Beginning a tad cool
Clouds are introduced
Suddenly, there is a massive war of the winds
Seeing your behaviors, it’s like a magic trick
Interacting with others
From a cleverly hidden crease
Manners and flow of conversation is revealed
The apple you’re holding seems to hold your fascination
Maybe there is a little person there, on the apple
That I am without view of
He’s spewing out words, expressively
Telling a captivating story
You’re unable to glance away
Utterly spellbound by his choice of words
He’s began to tell how in his past life, he ruled a kingdom of intellectual, vocal elephants
But he didn’t have a past life
He isn’t telling a story
He isn’t even there at all
Simply pretending to be busied
That way, you won’t have to offer conversation
That way, you and I won’t have to pretend
That way, we are on the same page and chapters apart all at once
Both our lack of speech prove we are better off that way
did you hate/like/love it?
what kind of message am i trying to send?
THANK YOU!

1 AnswerHigher Education (University +)8 years agoHelp me decide what to do after graduating high school!?
I want to do graphic design, however I do not have experience. Which means I don't have a portfolio either. In applying for graphic design school you will NEED a portfolio. I am an active artist, I do all sorts (painting, drawing, ceramics) and I've recently decided on graphic arts because I'd like to create visual advertisements and logos. The last time I did any graphic arts was 8th grade yearbook class! So this is my plan (i think):
After graduating 12th grade I'll take graphic design classes at a community college to gain experience, credits, and a portfolio. I'll also find a job so that I can save money for college. (my family is not wealthy, I will be applying for merit-based scholarships)
What are the pros and cons of starting 4year college late?
What shall I do?
All info is helpful, thanks!
