8 AnswersJokes & Riddles1 decade agogovernment waste of taxpayers money?
the government pay people on housing benefit the value of the property they live in not what they pay the landlord for example, the landlord or landlady may charge 500 per month rent but the housing benefit may assess that property at a rental value of 600 per month. the 600 pounds goes direct debit into the person renting the property, they send 500 to the landlord, this means they make 100per month out of the rent or taxpayer. joke isn't it but true
7 AnswersGovernment1 decade agowhat are the government doing to stop teenage pregnancies?
the taxpayer are paying mothers (teenagers or otherwise) £500.00 per baby plus a government bond of £200.00 why are we encouraging this. If you deliberately get pregnant knowing that you cannot financially support your baby why should the government expect you the taxpayer to do it?
12 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoi am now retired, why am i worse off then my 'neighbour' who has never worked?
i have worked from age 15 and half to age 59 and half for nation health service. i now find that on retirement that i am financially worse off then my 'neighbour' my 'neighbour' can claim pension credits, free dental treatment, does not pay council tax, gets free optical treatment, gets up to £4000.00 towards a home heating grant ie new boiler. all this because they have not paid in enough n i contributions (i know that there are some genuine people who could not work because of illness)
9 AnswersGovernment1 decade agowhy do the government believe that people over 60 and not on any benefits because they have worked do not get?
as cold as people who are on benefits. i have worked all my working life and paid in all my contributions. its irritating to learn that family and friends who have not bothered working or who have worked low hours now get taxpayers money to fund their heating because of the cold weather conditions
