  • daughter assaulted at school?

My daughter was assaulted by another pupil earlier this week, and sent home from school early with minor head injuries. (She is fine but currently off school due to the situation) Since that time I have been trying to contact the school to find out the details, but they did not get back to me until today. Apparently some of the injuries were self inflicted??? A trainer mark on the forehead and scratches, lumps and bumps all over the face...hhhmm..She has some psychological difficulties, which has caused very minor problems at school before and so this comment did not surprise me, as they are trying to play it down and blame her I think. The fact they do not know is that my daughter and the other girl were talking on the internet last night, and the other girl went through what happened and why. The only punishment that has been given is the other girl had a day in isolation (ILR) yesterday, where a teacher told her that they were just pleased it was my daughter and not the other one. (can disciplinary action be taken?) I am now trying to find out what action I can take to get her removed from this school, she has minor learning difficulties which are not being addressed, and I'm running around sorting everything out myself. I have been told today to contact the board of governors, but not sure that this will give me the satisfaction that the head will have to take responsibility for failing my daughter. I would like to hear from someone who knows my rights and my daughter's rights because at the moment, through CSF, the county council and admissions I have not been told anything except to get a mediator...I cant see that will do much good, but will look into it anyway first thing next week. I was told today by CSF that I should go to the school and sit there til its sorted, but unfortunately i am currently immobile due to an accident, so please dont suggest I do that! Any info on help that you may have found worthwhile would be appreciated.
