  • Breaking 11 minutes on 3200?

I have a freshman/sophomores only meet on Tuesday, which I actually have a chance to do very well in, possibly medal, and most importantly get under 11:00 on the two-mile. I've only done a 3000 once and ran a 10:32 which transfers into like an 11:05-11:15 3200. Any tips or advice on running my best possible race to get under 11:00?

  • Race strategies for mile and two-mile?

I'm a sophomore doing my first year of track and I want to break 5:00 and 11:00 by the end of the season. (mid-April) At the moment, based on the people I've been running with in practice who have done track before I can run about a 5:05-5:15 and a 11:15-11:30. What race strategies should I use to make sure I run the best race possible?

  • Should I buy Vibram Five-Fingers?

I've been hearing a lot about how running barefoot is good for your feet and is the way the human foot was naturally build to run. I was wondering if anybody has ever owned these "shoes" and can tell me a little bit about them before I decide whether or not to buy them.

  • Cross Country Advice?

Okay, so I'm a sophomore and I run an 18:59 right now. By the start of next season, I would like to get down to about 17:30, but the lower the better, and I'm willing to do whatever to get as good as I can be. Training advice?

  • What does your 5k time need to be to...?

Run in college. Yes I know, every school is different, but if somebody could just give me average times for all the divisions and whatnot that would be great.

  • Winter Break Track Prep?

So I have from December 18th till January 4th for winter break. I'm running the 3200 in track, and doing a half-marathon on the 3rd. I need workouts that will help me with the 2-mile (my goal is under 11) and to help me prep for the half-marathon.

  • Question about Team Triathlons?

Okay, I know of events in my town that are normal triathlons (swim, bike, run) but are done by teams of three (one for each event) instead of one person. My question is- what are these called and how long are the typical distances?

  • Cross Country Offseason Training?

Hi, my cross country season just finished, and I was hoping somebody had a good idea for off season training? My current PR is a 19:55, and I'd like to run varsity next year, which would mean being able to run at about 18:00. Any advice on what I should run day-to-day?

  • Anybody want to help? Feeling a bit... bipolar?

Like this morning, I'm taking the PSAT right after this girl ditched me for homecoming and I have the prospect of a "fun" 4 hours of testing ahead of me... and I feel like euphoric. I didn't know what was going on. I knew I should've been pissed or at least melancholy about the situation, but I wasn't I was feeling wonderful.

Then later today, after having a helluva day, I feel depressed for no reason. It's not like I suddenly just thought of something terrible or something happened, I just started feeling really all over the place.

Even since I started writing this I just feel like I'm going from extreme to extreme with no prompting or reason to it. Help?

  • Corny Teenage Relationship Advice Thing?

So I asked this girl I really like to homecoming (We're both 15, by the way) and she says yes. Then today she messages me saying a guy she's apparently "been in love with" for 2 years (he's a senior) and no longer wants to go with me but, "just as friends". Any ideas how to react to this?
