  • Are you watching the Diamond Jubilee Concert at the Palace?

I tried! Honestly, I tried, but I just couldn't take any more, Cliff (time to stop already) Cheryl Cole (wannabe a singer but nevergonnabe one) And it started with Will.i.am, which should have set the alarm bells ringing! And there wil no doubt be more dire stuff to follow. I could, and did, switch channels, but the poor old royals! They are there to the bitter end! Hopefully there will be some good stuff to make it all a little easier for them, but I'm not hanging around. Enjoying the Jubilee, but the concert? Nah! I think they should put Gary Barlow in the Tower for this, but it's more likely he'll get a Knighthood!

  • Italian President slams Britains 'inexplicable behaviour' in trying to rescue the hostages in Nigeria?

Inexplicable? Doesn't he know that the fewer people involved, the less chance of leakages? Doesn't he understand that nobody, but nobody, would involve the Italians if they could possible help it? They might insist on helping, and who wants THAT? Doesn't he know it would be better if he said "thank you for trying Mr Cameron, because we were not going to do anything". But on the other hand, I guess he needs something, anything, to distract the Italian people from their dire financial situation!

But then I realised that this is the Music & Entertainment section. I therefore withdraw the question.

  • Osama Bin Laden was trained and supplied by the Americans during the Russian occupation of Afghanistan?

Why do the apologists always hark back to that fact, and then follow it by saying that makes it the Americans own fault when he turned around and attacked the USA? When the Russians occupied the country, the Mujaheddin and Bin Laden were fighting against the Russian occupiers, and THAT'S why the Americans trained and supplied them! That is a reason to be GRATEFUL, not to turn and bite the hand that fed you! I simply do not understand the reasoning behind saying "It's their own fault, they trained him!" Isn't that CLEAR?

  • Have you read the criticism of what our troops in Helmand are doing (Wikileaks)?

We KNOW our troops are a match for ANYONE, but the criticisms show that what they were doing in Helmand was not seen to be achieving anything. Since their bravery and commitment is beyond doubt, then we have to ask questions about the commanders, and the tactics they are employing, and the purpose and commitment of the politicians who sent them there!

Young lives are being lost and families being devastated, for what appears to be no apparent reason other than the fact that they are THERE! Why are our troops there, if their presence is not achieving anything positive, and SEEN to be achieving anything? There are no words to describe how these criticisms must make the families of the dead soldiers feel!

  • Using someone Else's wireless broadband?

My nephew and his girlfriend recently moved house and have not arranged with an ISP for a broadband connection. His girlfriend uses her laptop, and is hooking up to the net on a neighbours wireless broadband. She insists it is not wrong, and that there is no way she can be caught doing that. Neither my nephew nor myself can explain how she CAN be caught, but surely there is, isn't there? Can someone tell me so I can get it into her thick head that she is STEALING, and that she CAN be caught!

  • Question for Muslims?

Ali Ibn Abu Talib was the Right Hand man of Mohammad, and was the last of the four Caliphs who succeeded the Prophet. His followers, believing him to be the first infallible Imam, defied the authority of the others, which led to the great schism between Shia and Sunni Muslims.

Hope that is correct. My questions are:

    1) What year did that take place?

    2) Are there any fundamental differences in creed, apart from the succession, between Sunni and Shia?

    3) Why did the Shia believe Ali to be infallible? Was he considered a second Prophet?

    4) Does the Quran say anything about Mohammad being succeeded, and did Allah intend for him to be succeeded? And if so, succeeded in what capacity? Just a leader, or as a Prophet?

This question is from a historical prospective, and answers in that capacity would be much appreciated.

  • Is there life after the One show for Chiles and Bleakley?

Will they now disappear from the public radar, perhaps briefly to appear in some future series of 'I'm a celebrity, get.......! I mean, they are ok, but nothing special, right?

  • When you dream, please tell me how you see yourself. Or do you, like me, not quite 'see myself' at all?

While dreaming, I can be doing something, like having sex for instance, or running away from something, but I don't quite 'see myself', if you understand what I mean. I don't see me as I am exactly. It's not like watching a video, but is it that in our dreams, we just do things, or experience things like in real life. We don't 'see' ourselves having dinner, or making love (unless we have a mirror on the ceiling) And in your dreams, are you the same age as you are at that time? Younger?

If you have the time, please tell me as well as you can how you dream. But not necessarily what you dream. Thanks.

  • Will Andy Murray EVER win a Grand Slam title?

Last year I considered placing a bet of £100.00 that he would never win one of the Big Four, but then I reconsidered, and after he beat Nadal and Federer just a couple of weeks ago, I was grateful I didn't place the bet. But now, I wonder......?

  • Is the translation of the Qur'an by Muhammad Marmaduke Pikethall considered to be a good translation?

I would like to know if Muslims consider his translation to be a worthy one? I just bought it from a second hand bookstall for 50p, and just a cursory glance through it leaves me with the impression that the English is not great. Any Muslims out there read that particular version? Judging by his name, I would say he was a convert. It's called 'The Glorious Qur'an".

  • Stephen Hawking says that the Universe was not created by a god, and it's about time too, right?

He's is one clever guy, but it doesn't need clever to know that. Personally, I have no time for those scientists who continue to think that there must be 'something' or 'someone intelligent' behind the Big Bang, to light the touch paper and get it all kicked off. It's good to have someone of Hawking's status actually come out and say "There is no god", and no need for a god! Even though everyone already knew that was his opinion. So, can we all now be atheists please? Thank you!

  • Is anyone else experiencing this?

I give a really terrific, witty and clever answer to a question, and when I hit the final button, I get " Yahoo Answers is experiencing....". It's happening all the time now. I hit the back button, and the next answer is accepted! What the heck is happening here?

  • Does god ever change his mind?

I think the answer will have to be a big NO! Because he is infallible and does not ever need to, right?

That presumably being the case, WHAT IS THE POINT OF PRAYER?

Do you pray just to praise your god? That's ok, if you feel be requires constant praise.

Do you pray to ask him a favour of some kind? Remember, he doesn't change his mind, so if he has decided that your aunt is going to die, he is not going to say "Oh well, I'm gonna grant your plea in your prayer, and let her live." The 'aunt' thing is just an example to represent things you ask god for.

Please tell me what YOU think prayer is for. I'm not grinding any axes, just want to know what you think the point of prayer is. And remember, stick to the point, and PLEASE don't quote from the Bible!

  • Can any Jew, Christians or Muslim tell me why god would screw around with Job?

Why would god be sitting round having a conversation with the devil, talking about Job? Why would he then invite the devil to really give Job a really hard time, kill his family and his servants and his animals, then inflict him with all kinds of horrible diseases, just to prove how good a servant he was.

Would your god permit the devil to do such cruel things to a faithful servant. And why would god want to prove ANYTHING to the devil anyway? And why would be be having a conversation with the devil in the first place?

One thing, before you answer, please take the time to THINK this out, and if you will, or can, then ANSWER the question and refrain from attacking me in place of giving me an answer. You are welcome to attack me AFTER you have properly answered the question. Thanks in advance.

  • Believers, Christian and Muslim and of any other faith, what do you believe will happen to me when I die?

I was a staunch believer for the first 24 years of my life, and practised faithfully. Then something stimulated a line of thought which resulted in my coming to the firm conclusion that god and religions are fictions. Ancient fictions, but fictions all the same. If you believe that god made me, then you must accept he made my brain and mind, which have led me to the conclusion that there is no such thing as god. Remember, I have thought about it extensively with the mind that, according to you, god gave me. As a matter of interest, how do you think your god will see me when I die?

And please don't give me the old 'free will' stuff, because it has nothing to do with what I WISH to to or believe. I simply CANNOT believe, whether I want to or not.

  • Why doesn't god strike me down?

I don't believe there is any such thing as god, but millions of people do, and that being the case, he should be thinking " time I struck him down with a bolt of lightening!" I mean, if I was god, and there was a guy like me taking the pi**, I would do exactly that! So what is going on here?

  • If someone knocks on your door in the middle of the night (in South Africa!) and....?

Hands you a pouch of 'dirty stones', what do you do?

    1) Take the pouch and ask NO questions.

    2) Tell them to stick the stones up where they will get even more dirty.

    3) Ask who sent them, and why.

You have to assume that you are a supermodel, to whom this kind of thing happens alll the time, before you answer.
