  • Installing an induction kit on a Duratec 16V engine?

    Hi all,

I want to install an induction kit on my 1.4l Ford Fiesta 2003 with a Duratec 16v engine.

Now I get the basic idea of what I need to do, take the air cover off by unscrewing the two bolts at the front. Take the tubes out of each air hole, fit them to the induction kit. Tighten tubes with jubilee clips.

Is that the basic jist? I have an original air filter, do I need to take that out.

  • What happens if I don't increase the electrode gap?

I'm getting some new spark plugs for my 03 Fiesta tonight, now in the Manual it says the gap should be 1.3mm, but the ones I am buying have a gap of just 0.95mm, what would be the outcome of installing them without changing the gap?

  • Do I need to change my Spark Plugs? UK?

I've got a 2003 1.4l Ford Fiesta Finesse 16V Semi-Auto, which I bought when there was 33,000 miles on the clock, since I've had it, I've got up to 39,500 miles. Now, the Haynes manual advises a spark plug change every 37,500 miles (or 3 years). Would it be fair to assume that they've never been changed? Even if they have, would it be worth changing them anyway?

    Thanks for any responses

  • Consolidation, a good idea?

Currently I am paying £322 a month for my car insurance (I'm 19 years old), this will conclude in January so I owe about £1,600 still. I also have roughly £500 of other money owed to parents.

I also get the train into London for work at £303 a month.

Now, I have a total debt of roughly £2,100. I was planning on borrowing £7,500 from Nationwide, which would mean paying £150 a month for 5 years.

With this, I could pay off the debt I owe, get a relatively decent car which will last me (I currently drive a Peugeot 106 which is 9 years old) and insure it for a year.

Would it beneficial to consolidate in this way? Or would you recommend I stick with paying it off at the high rate I do now.

Only thing is, I would need to take out a car loan eventually anyway after this is paid off.

    Thanks for any helpful answers

  • How to install iOS on an iPhone that has a 6.15 baseband?

    Basically,

I jailbroke my iPhone so that it could be unlocked from Orange to 02. While doing this, I had to upgrade the baseband to 6.15 using redsn0w.

Now, I think i've bit off more than I can chew with this project, as I tried to restore the iPhone using iTunes. Obviously, iTunes wasn't fooled and refused to allow me to do this. My iPhone is now stuck in recovery mode with no iOS installed and I would like to sell the iPhone via Mazuma or the like.

I'm really unsure of where to go on this one, as it would seem that this iPhone is lost without hope, if there is a way I can rectify the iPhone and return it to a functional state (even with the 6.15 baseband) that'd be great.

Any helpful answers would be greatly appreciated

    Thank you

  • Trying to remember a film?

Quite a modern, contemporary film, all i can remember is it was a very innovative piece of filmmaking and was about a man bed bound in a hospital, the camera was from his viewpoint. I have a vague feeling we could hear his thoughts and not what he was speaking. Really can't remember the name of this film. HELP please

  • Intriguing Maths question?

Right so, i haven't done mathematics in a couple of years and was wondering if i'd answered this question correctly

"The Manager has agreed to make improvements to the coffee shop. During the work barriers will have to be put around the area. The barriers are made of posts and tapes that will reach up to 2m each.

    Work-Barrier information

Each post has a tape which can be attached to the next post.

A single post and it's tape will reach up to 2m

The barrier will go around a rectangular space 5.5m by 7.5m

How many sets of posts and tapes will the workmen need to go round the space?

Right, so first i worked out the area of the rectangular space, 5.5m by 7.5m = 41.25m

I rounded the 41.25m up to 42m, because obviously you'd need to have posts and tape which cover more than the actual distance as opposed to less.

I then divided the 42 by 2, giving me 21 posts, now maybe that seems a bit much but i haven't done Maths in ages, so my minds a little sketchy when it comes to working things out

Any help would be much appreciated, thank you

  • How to move off in a car from stationary position? (manual)?

I think i've got the rough idea:

First, keys in ignition, engine on. Check handbrake and gearstick. Foot down on the clutch (all the way down), shift into first gear. Lift your foot off the clutch (slowly) until you find the biting point. Indicate the direction you want to turn, check all mirrors. Push the handbrake down; slowly lift your foot further off the clutch and slowly push down on the gas (accelerator)

  • How to remove games off of my Sony Ericsson C903?

It's irritated me that in 2009/2010, networks haven't moved on from charging people for games when they can still get them for free. There's no way i'm going to pay £5.00 for tetris on my phone. How do i remove these "games" that i have already on my phone, as they just lead me to websites where I can pay, they're securely locked on there, but surely there is a way?

  • A song i heard recently on waterloo road?

Some of the lyrics are "Anything, i would do anything, for your love" It's quite an intense, high paced song, so it's not Eric Clapton or anything

I have a feeling it's also recently released, can anyone help me find the song name please?
