  • I thought all Olympic events were equal?

...So Bolt wins the 200m. Surprise, surprise...He'll probably take all the headlines again (over here in the U.K. at least).

Despite the fact that he didn't break any records (neither world or olympic).

Another athlete David Rudisha wins the 800m in WORD RECORD time...would he make the headlines? Of course not.

The 100m or 200m is no more difficult than any other of the track and field events (in fact any Olympic event for that matter)...so why does he get all the headlines?

  • Why do most people outside of the U.K. think the women here are the least attractive in the 1st world?

Since the Olympics is arriving in London within two days I thought I'd pose this question.

I haven't particularly heard this from anyone, but it's all over the internet, just use any search engine.

Even though you cannot view the number of hits anymore in Google just type "why are British girls so..."

and the first suggestion it'll give you is "ugly". No other country I know of has this as it's first suggestion....it's mostly always "beautiful".

This includes Denmark...despite a very insightful traveller mentioning this

    http://www.rooshv.com/danish-girls-are-ugly-and-fa...

So many people think the women here a pale (despite the women in Scandinavia also being pale).

I've heard too many times people saying EVERYONE in the U.K. is ugly (even though there are many foreigners here also and how could they have seen every single woman).

They also say it is because of inbreeding as the U.K. is a small island (even though Iceland is a small island in the middle of nowhere).

They say the women here are always drunk, despite it being obvious that not EVERY woman likes to go drinking (also most places in Europe have a binge drinking culture especially in Iceland).

London (let alone England) has a population of about just over 8 million est, Iceland for example has a total population of 320,000 est. Also London is the most visited city in Europe It is also the world's leading financial centre alongside New York City and has the fifth-largest metropolitan area GDP in the world, and the largest in Europe.

    Explain.
