  • Harrasment of David Lloyd gym. Wont let me cancel membership?

I swear I signed up for a 3month trial as advertised on their website. 3months gone by and it's not for me. So I've tried to cancel my membership. Hardly been as I'm suffering from anxiety and depression. Also not working as the employment agency have no work so I cannot afford to pay for the gym membership.

I've explained this in numerous emails but they came back saying I signed for a 12month contract not 3months and until they receive a copy of my redundancy letter they cannot cancel my membership.

I've now received emails from their debt collectors wanting £978 for the remainder of the contract!!

I keep telling them that as I'm with an employment agency they cant give me a redundancy letter!  I was working for a company for 3months on a temporary contract thing throught he agency and they dont have any work for me so I'm I'm limbo. Agency havnt given me any work for 7 weeks and I'm now on universal credit.

I'm getting stressed out, it's making my depressin worse and I'm basically had enough with it all and ca quite easily end it all right now.

    What do I bloody do?

  • Question regarding flexible hours in the UK. Stay in job or quit?

I need to change my hrs at work so i can drop off & pick my child up from school a few days in the week as my partners in the last yr of Uni and needs to concentrate on it as she is having to re-sit the lat year.

My boss is been an a-hole about it. Maybe its a sexism thing, the woman should do that stuff etc!! anyway, cant reduce my hrs as the role is fulltime, even though i can come in early on somedays.

Im now left with no choice, i need out of here. If i quit would i get benefits to keep me going until a get a part time job with hours that suit?

Id rather work here but i cant when i need to take kid to and from school. Also commute doesnt help. Public transport takes me hr n half each way to get to work and back.

Im getting pissed off with it all and stressed out. Need help before i tell everyone to **** it!

  • 37yr male. Never got driving licence but now looking to get it done. Question regarding insurance etc..?

All I read about is that insurance is sky high for new drivers but they seem to be aimed at 17-18. I'm 37...never really bother if I could drive or not until now. Got a young family and public transports a pain. I need to learn to drive ASAP.

What prices would I be looking at? It's all new to me. And also, anyone recommend a reliable 1st car, £1500-£2000 max.

Problem is with my 2year old. My partners at University on Monday so she cant look after her. She only started last week so she needs to go so no time off for her!

Now what can i do??? we cannot afford childcare at the moment. Student finance and childcare has not come through yet. Local nursery charge a few quid (£15) but just havnt got it.

  • Will Samsung repair my S2 which has a cracked screen?

Opened a cupboard door which was broken and it slipped out of my hand and hit the screen of my Samsung Galaxy S2. Its got a nice cracked screen, luckily the touchscreens working so its just the glass. Ive looked into fixing it myself, done research so i know its not easy and its expensive as the glass and digitizer are glued together so i need the whole front unit (£100+),

So, checked a few local retailers out, all seem to be able to fix it for £120 - £140 which i havnt got.

Then tried Carphone Warehouse.... They said if its under warranty then Samsung will repair it for free,. Just take 7-10 days which is fine by me.

I have found my proof of purchase and ive had my phone for 1year, looking online Samsung offer 2 year warranty so alls good (i think). I have reset my phone as i was running custom firmware so its all set to factory settings now.

If i take it to Carphone warehouse will they send it to Samsung to repair for free?

  • Is it worth giving up a full time job for part time work?

Currently working Full time but want another job. Boss and I do not see eye to eye and its go the stage where i get sacked or i walk out.

I applied for a job last week and they have got back to me saying the jobs now took of the market as the guy whose job it was was leaving due to going into hospital but that appointments now been cancelled. But in the email they said i was on the shortlist (bonus) and if im out of work then to contact them for part time / holiday cover work.

Im very tempted to hand my notice in and then take them up on this offer, downside is.... ive got responsibilities. Do i give up the job i hate which offers me full time work and monthly wages or give it u for part time work where ill be happy + get time to spend with my daughter.

Thats one major bonus, but what benefits could i get for help? I already get child support/working tax etc... which is a bonus. Will i be better off working part time?? Screw the system, i wanna get what i can out of them
