Who is the father of my child?
Before I get into the question, just a little bit of a back story, I wanted to make clear I am not a slag (or at least I thought I wasn't) although this question might suggest otherwise. I've just been very stupid recently.
I have an ex boyfriend who I've been with for 3 years, but about 4 months ago he told me he was going to France skiing for 6 months, and then Canada for a year, and we decided that it would be too hard to do the long distance thing so broke up. We didn't see each other for over 2 months and I started seeing someone else, mainly for comfort more than anything else because I'm quite dependent and I never fell out of love with my ex.
Anyway, with this new man, we had sex a total of 3 times, each time with no protection, but always stopped before the end so he never came inside me. The last time that happened was before my birthday which was mid October. Then I had a period beginning 3rd November and lasting 4 days. I can't for the life of me remember if before my birthday and after the last time of having sex with this man I had a period then either, I don't usually keep careful track of it.
But anyway, on the week beginning the 7th my ex came and stayed for a couple of weeks, and we had a long talk and decided we still love each other and we're going to try to make it work when he comes back from skiing in April, but stay apart for now. We had sex a few times, and a couple of times he came inside me. He left on the 25th Nov to go away, and I was so depressed when he went. No excuse but last Saturday, I was very drunk and very down and ended up having sex with a close male friend, but stopped it soon into it. Since then I realised my period was a week late and I did a test and it's positive.
I can't believe I'm actually one of those women who have doubts over the father of her child, but I do, and I was wondering if there was ANY WAY of knowing the chances of the two who aren't my ex being the father - I'm aware the odds are more in favour of it being my ex but I am so paranoid about this.
Again I've been very stupid and know it's my fault but I need some kind of statistics to give me a bit of peace of mind.
9 AnswersOther - Pregnancy & Parenting10 years agoBoy names to go with last name?
We were thinking of going with Harry but not sure because it's quite common. Any ideas for boys names that will go with the last name "Maggs"?
10 AnswersBaby Names10 years agoHelp with new facebook groups?
I wanted to create a group on facebook for an organisation at my university. however, the new design has really confused me, and somebody has told me that you can only invite your facebook friends to the new groups!
Does anyone know anything more about this, in the meantime I have just created a page but I don't really like this as I have to post on the wall as "the page" rather than as myself.
Thanks :)
3 AnswersFacebook1 decade agoA full name for Elsie?
I love the name Elsie but am reluctant to name my daughter a shortened name. I think maybe the most common name would be Elspeth but I am not keen... any other suggestions?
Also - I love Greek names and came across Elysia which could possibly work?
7 AnswersBaby Names1 decade agoA beautiful poem I once found.?
Last year, I think around February time, but I can't remember for sure, I was on the PostSecrets forum, and someone wrote a poem and posted it on a topic in the forum. that poem really touched me, I read it and literally got tears in my eyes. it's stayed with me all this time, I copied and pasted it into a word document on my laptop... however my laptop recently broke and I can't retrieve the poem. I am so saddened by this, because I've lost something that was really inspiring and truly beautiful.
Unfortunately because it is just a random person's poem and not a famous one I don't think I can ever get it back. I tried typing in some keywords from the poem in the search on the PostSecrets forum but my computer kept crashing!!
This is a thin thin hope but I was wondering if anyone goes on PostSecret regularly, and could maybe help me find this poem? It will still be in the archives I'm sure. I have a TERRIBLE memory, and all I can remember from it is it's written from the female perspective, it's a love poem, talking about strong shoulders and fingers intertwining, and something about it's like the end of an old movie, but this is only the beginning.
I hope to God someone can help me with this. It would truly make my life. xxx
2 AnswersPoetry1 decade agoPlease help with names order?
Just messing about sorting out possible names for children:
I was wondering what people thought of these names and whether anyone fancied putting them in some sort of order for me??
For girls I like:
Norah Grace
Isabella Rose
I also like:
Raine
Ava
Eva
Elsie
And to honour some family members, for middle names I would like Alyson, Laura, Diana and Jane somewhere thrown in, but definitely those four kept as middle names. 2 middle names would be fine.
For boys:
Jude
Hugh
George
Gabriel
Robin
Dorian
For middle names again, family members: Neil, James, Alan, Peter
Anyway let me know :)
P.S. Any additional name suggestions are welcome!
6 AnswersBaby Names1 decade agoWhen is the "right" age to have children?
In your opinion, what do you think is an acceptable age to have children?
I'm 20, and my grandma had my mum when she was 20, then my mum had me when she was 22. I've always thought around 23/24 would be the age I would have kids.
However, I was talking to a male friend of mine about children and I commented on the fact that it would only be a few years now until we would have to be thinking about that sort of thing, and he was really shocked, and was like what???
Anyway it turns out that his mum was 38 when she had him and his dad was 45. And he was also planning on being around 40 when he first has children.
I was shocked cos I feel this is too old. I asked around after that and a surprising number of people seem to be on his side! (Thankfully my boyfriend agrees with me though !)
Anyway, let me know your views?
10 AnswersOther - Pregnancy & Parenting1 decade agoChange from BSc Psychology to BA English?
My friend has just finished her first year of BSc Psychology with a 2.1, however she hates the subject and wants to change to BA English which she wishes she has done from the start - would she be able to swap courses in her 2nd year? I have heard of students doing this in the past but only with more related subjects such as English to History etc. Could anyone let me know if she would be able to swap, and their views on it?
5 AnswersHigher Education (University +)1 decade agoShould I tell him the truth?
I was having a chat with my boyfriend the other night after we'd had sex and we got talking about the number of people we'd slept with - his was 6, including me.
I told him mine was 8, but really it's 12. I'm quite embarrassed about it really, but I've felt bad about lying cos so many people say you should have complete honesty in a relationship.
However, I'm 19 next month and I think that my number is a bit high. He's 20.
We're both at different universities so the next time I'll see him is when we go out drinking with friends next saturday, should I bring it up again and tell him the truth?
24 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade agoThis may be me being stupid, but...?
If you've been taking the pill and you have sex one night but then stop taking the pill the next day, can you get pregnant? Or would it already be in effect?
2 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade agoWhy do many Christians put everything good that happens down to God and everything bad down to humanity?
I have nothing against Christians, and although personally I do not believe in God, I feel that they are generally good and loving people and the Bible is a good moral guideline if you don't take it all literally and realise it is mostly all allegory or metaphor.
However I do not feel that blaming humanity for evil and giving God all the credit for everything good is justifiable.
What does anybody else think?
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat is the best name/surname you've ever heard?
You know, like "Ben Dover" or "Teresa Green"
Or just really cool names like "Mezzanotte" - which means "midnight" in Italian, and I think that's really nice.
Oh also, my mum works in a primary school and she gets some children with very weird names because some come from a quite common area
Next year she's getting a girl in her class called "Elezebeathanne". No joke. Pronounced like "Elizabethan" as in the time when a Queen Elizabeth rules the country.
I wonder if she knew? Probably not.
Anyway let me know.
16 AnswersBaby Names1 decade agoWhat shall I do for my boyfriend's birthday?
My boyfriend is 20 on thursday and I want to do something just me and him...
the problem is, it's going to rain all week, I can't afford to take him out for a meal because money's quite tight at the moment, and I don't just want to take him to the cinema or bowling or whatever, I want to do something different, but relatively cheap
I have a car, and I don't want to just stay in, I want to do something special that we can remember
I know it's a tough one, but any suggestions?
