  • Possible Transmission Issue?

I have a 2008 Honda Civic SI 6-speed manual, recently I been having experiencing strange ticking or clicking noise under the hood. The noise only happens when I let go of the gas and the RPM starts to drop. The clicking noise grows louder the faster I go and let of the gas. Also, when I put it into either neutral or press on the clutch, the sound goes completely away. The sound gets much worse on higher gears and cannot hear it on first gear when releasing the gas pedal. I started to test turning while letting go of gas and pressing on gas, no difference. Pressing on brakes makes no differences as well and still makes the same noise. Shifting in reverse is fine though .

I was starting to think it could either be a throw out bearing or input shaft. I took this to a transmission shop and they said its really awkward sound. They said they will need to borrow my car for a day to figure it out but I wanted to know if you guys ever or have seen or experienced this issue before.

I had someone say that it could be something busted on the headers or timing belt issue. I actually feel and hear the noise once I am in 6th gear going 50+ mph so it couldn't be anything else other than a transmission issue.

  • Stomach flu (Gastroenteritis) signs good or bad?

I have Gastroenteritis or some say stomach flu. When I first had it I thew up once. Now I am using the toilet like every 5-10 minutes. My brother said that he had it once and he told me not to drink or eat anything at all. Thats how he got rid of his stomach flu fast. I was wondering if by drinking lots of water and gatorade will help or doing his way. Is having diarrhea a good sign? Because I thought that the diarrhea tries to watch out the bacteria and toxins. Also is it a good idea to drink a lot of juice and gatorade at once?

  • Cited for speeding... Can I just reduce it and no points?

Was cited for speeding 61 on a 45. He then put the wrong location where he stopped me. After coming out of a traffic light. Just about 100 ft. he turned his lights on me. I mean seriously, 61 mph on 100 ft... Since I have no evidence or no help whatsever(besides hiring a lawyer). I have no other choice but to pay. But I am too broke to pay the $254. I am only doing a $10/hr job and still have to pay bills. What kind of action should I take to reduce this and try to get no points?

  • Free monthly payments!?

Recently I heard that my aunt is involved in this program that she gets free money every month. I don't really know what it was and was pretty surprised how she even got into the program. Its like she signed up for this program and they send her a credit card like card that has limits($600). And this card HAS to be used up/near every month or else they will either cancel the card or lower the limit. Plus she is living in America for like five years now and has her green card. Plus she has three kids, all under three years old. She is jobless and never has been in a job because she can't talk english. And now she is getting this free money $600 a month to go shopping spree with no pay backs or anything. She told me that you need to have at least two kids before you apply though. I was wondering if any of you guys know this program or what is it. Sorry but this all the detail she can give me because her husband was doing all the paper work.

  • Cops shooting laser/radar from behind them while motion?

Recently, a motorcyclist cop pulled me over for speeding. Apparently, I know so that I never did speed. We were both on the right lane(two lanes) and he was two cars up ahead of me. I could hardly see him and thought it was just some motorcyclist. The road was 55 MPH and sudden change to 45 MPH. Instead of hitting the brakes. I let go of the gas and let it dropped from 58 MPH to 50 MPH. All of the sudden he pulled over to the side and let the first two cars go and me. Then he speed up to catch up to me. Then he kind of waited and tailgated me for about 10 seconds and was going 45 MPH now. Then lights come on and have to pull over. He even showed me the gun saying I was going 63 MPH on a 45 MPH. Can he possibly shoot a laser/radar from behind him? Or did he just like used the gun on someone else then used as a excuse to pull me over? I thought only the radars/laser work well when they are stationed and the car is coming toward(correct me if I am wrong).

  • Negative equity trade-in math correct?

I realize that I have own my new car for a year now. I bought it at 17000 and now I have paid it off up to 12000. I can afford its monthly payment and decided that I rather start over with a different car of my liking instead(I have a family "chosen" car). I want to trade in my car for a different one that is worth 12000. After reading and researching in KBB site. Most private parties would take my car in for 8000(KBB said 9300 but I know a lot of private parties will low ball on it) which would leave me upside down. The rest of the money, 4000 would go onto my new car payments but would total back up to 17000 with taxes and paperwork. So its pretty much the same but just starting over. I was wondering if I did my calculations correctly? Will this work? Or am I missing something here? The only thing I was concerned of is interest rates but shouldn't be to much of a bother if co-signed.

Please note that this is a calculation only and I am not doing this as of now. If things get worse or owing more money, then I might just stay where I am.

  • Is it illegal to cut in front of cops?

Well, the highway patrol guy and me was cruising together at 65. We were pretty much going the same speed for about 20 miles on the highway. And some jerk off slow old minivan had to merge in and do a 45 in front of me. So I slowed down and the cop was like two cars behind so I took my chances and cut him. He then went 70 to catch up to me and turned his lights on on me. He told me its illegal to cut in front of cops at all times. Is this really true? I only got a warning at the end because the fact that I didn't know it was illegal and hadn't been issued a ticket in the last 48 months. He also stated I was speeding to 70 when I braked instead because I didn't want to rear end the minivan. I also live in Florida where cops are one of the most crankiest among the states I heard.

  • Pennsylvania In-state tuition elgible?

I was thinking about moving from Florida to Philadelphia, PA to go to technical school or college or trade school and also get a better job. I have my uncle and aunt living in PA, and they say that they can provide me with shelter and support while I can go to school and work. I already have a job offered to me in Philadelphia, PA. So that takes care of finding a job. But was wanting to know if I am capable of being a resident in PA for tuition purpose as well instead of waiting a year? Would I have to do a petition also?

  • After Interval services?

Ok, I have a 2008 Lancer from Mitsubishi and I just recently did an oil change and a tire rotation on a different shop and cost me $60. But I didn't really follow all the guidelines in the manual. But question is, if I ever go back to get oil changes from Mitsubishi dealership, would I void my warranty? because I never followed the guidelines for a 15,000 mile interval service. All the shop charges too much for everything so I stuck with regular oil changes and tire rotations.

I just don't want to go back to the dealership and let them yell at me that I just voided my warranty for not following guidelines or not going to there services instead. My Mitsubishi dealership auto service are very mean and gets pissed off easily. I try to avoid talking to them sometimes.

  • Interval Service Help (update)?

Ok, I went to a different shops because Mitsubishi charged too much for a first time 15,000 interval service, which is $200.00 for oil change, 24 point checkup, and tire rotation, and possibly new filter. But I went to other shops and they say that most likely I will void my warranty, because they don't follow Mitsubishi Warranty guidelines and only follow there services. Now should I just don't care about warranty anymore and just follow the guidelines in what the manual says? or does it "have" to be only Mitsubishi?

  • 15,000 Oil change Interval charge...?

I own a '08 Mitsubishi Lancer and was quoted by Mitsubishi dealer for $200.00 for an 15,000 oil change interval, just for the oil change itself. You guys think this is a good average price? Is it better to call other shops? Or do I have to stick with the dealership because of the warranty?

  • upgrading brakes with half of a big brake kit?

I was wondering if I can just upgrade my kit just using a 4 piston caliper and a rotor. Would this work fine or do I need the whole kit? I just don't want to buy the big brake kits over 1,000 dollars. Would braking improve as well?

  • Car Repair Pay Monthly?

Lets say I have 2,000 to pay for my new car repair. Can I just go to my dealership or any auto shop to pay monthly only? Can I just say: "Put it on my bill"? Will this be possible?

How do people except to pay over thousands of dollars for car repairs on the spot? Once, I was at the dealership and this sales person was charging this guy on repairs on his car like need new wheel hubs, need new motor mounts, etc. and came out like near $1,500. Well pretty much sucks for him... I told him its better to use that 1,500 to down a new car used.
