  • Low resting heart rate?

    I've only been working out for about 3 weeks and I finally got a heart monitor. To do a quick test, I watched TV for 5 minutes and tested for my average resting heart rate which came out at 49 bpm. I thought that seemed very low to someone who is overweight (BMI is 28.3, Bodyfat% is 26%) and had not been working out regularly until recently. I decided to test but just counting my pulse for two minutes and got 52 bpm.

    Is this a bad sign or a good sign?
