  • Are commercial pilot licenses that are issued in the U.S. restricted to the U.S. only?

I want to know if I can get my commercial pilot license in the United States and use it in a country such as France, Belgium, or Switzerland. If not, what is the process of obtaining the necessary licensing to make money off of flying in those three countries for a U.S. citizen?

I'd like to learn French but I don't want to move if I can't raise my flight hours. I'm hoping I can move overseas and maintain a steady rise in my hours, which will only be possible if I'm making money off of the flying.

Any help or advice is much appreciated!

  • California Residency for Community College?

Here's my situation: I'm 17 years old, and for the first 16 years of my life I lived in California. Last year I moved to Mexico, where I attended school and lived with my parents. In June, my family and I traveled up to California where my grandparents live, as part of our vacation. My family stayed for three weeks and when it was time to return to Mexico, I decided to stay. My parents agreed. My parents and my two brothers are currently vacationing in Canada, but they will return to Mexico soon.

I tried applying for resident fees for a community college, but apparently, since I'm under 19, I am not eligible because the last parent I lived with was not living in California. My parents pay federal taxes and have payed California taxes for as long as they've been there. I've lived in California for 16 out of 17 years. Is there some way around this so I can pay resident fees?

  • Where can I find headphones compatible with...?

I would like a good set of headphones (the ones that cover your ears). It needs to be compatible with a Macbook, iPod, and iPad/iPad mini. Preferably not those Beats by Dre or whatever they are with the "b" on the side. I rather pay for quality than brand name. Thanks folks.

  • Where can I buy slim-fit, V-neck sweaters?

I need them shipped to the U.S., so international shipping if the stores aren't located in the U.S. needs to be an option, and an inexpensive one at that, preferably. Anyway, I'm a pretty slender guy, and was looking at the ones they have in H&M (I live in Mexico, but am having them shipped to a relative who is coming down rather than over-paying for shipping to here or putting faith in the regular Mexican shipping system). The ones over in H&M seem pretty slim, which is what I'm looking for. If anyone has any ideas of something around the same price range ($60 bucks max, probably) then I'd love to hear it. Thanks for all help, humans.

  • How easy would it be to filter carcinogens out of water supplies?

I'm especially concerned about this in the case of fracking, less so about chlorine and whatnot. But when carcinogens are put into the water supply through hydraulic fracturing, would it be all that hard to filter it out?

  • When a person is put on trial, upon what basis are they decided sane or insane?

I know a few cases in which the person tried was diagnosed insane. I'm wondering who makes the diagnosis and on what basis do they do so? Are the mental disorders required to justify insanity along the lines of severe hallucinations, psychotic behavior, etc? Or can it be something as simple as OCD and murderous behavior?

  • What is this type of cancer surgery called?

A while ago, my grandfather got cancer. I can't remember exactly when, but it could be the 1960s or the '70s. He was diagnosed with colon cancer I believe. Anyway, the doctors gave him some options if I remember correctly, but the one they and he were most keen on was a surgery that the doctors told him was experimental. They had only operated on a few patients using this type of surgery. Anyway, my grandfather went to the library and read as much as he could find on the subject of cancer and eventually, they performed this experimental surgery. It worked, and he hasn't had any side effects. Apparently, they don't do it now, or they do it differently. ("Excess" material of his body is transferred naturally through the intestine (I think) into an artificial container that is INSIDE his body. Nowadays, the container is on the outside.) Any ideas of what procedure he went through?

    Thank ya folks.

  • At what rate does an object lose thermal energy?

If I had a cup of tea in a room temperature setting, how long would it take for the tea to become room temperature, if initially the tea was at like 110 degrees or something? Is there a formula that can help me find out how long it'll take for something to cool off if I have the ambient temperature and the object's initial temperature? Thanks.

  • My suspenders suspend my pants too much?

I've extended my suspenders to their full length. They just pull my pants up way too much. I think it's probably because I'm too skinny and nothing's keeping them down. I'm gonna buy longer pants, but other than that, does anyone have any tips?

  • What's Kohl's policy on returning once-worn items purchased online?

I sent customer service an email but they haven't responded and it's been a bit. I know there's a section on returns, but I want to know for sure...

Here's what I sent to the guys and gals at customer service, and if anyone could give me a straight answer that'd be fantastic.

Email: If I purchase some items online and they arrive and I try the delivered shirt on once for example, and find it does not fit, am I able to return the shirt for a refund (or more likely) exchange the shirt for a better fitting shirt?

I want to have these shipped somewhere so when I arrive, the items are waiting for me. Also I don't want to personally go into the store and look the cashier in the eye as I'm purchasing suspenders and a bow-tie.

Thanks for putting up with me.

So yeah, if anyone has an answer or personal experience that'd be great. Thank ya.

  • Any running shoes with laces that you don't have to tie?

I'm looking for a good running shoe, preferably something from Nike or Brooks (though Brooks didn't seem to have any) or really any other shoe brand that makes decent shoes. The only two things are: the shoe should not have laces that need to be tied, as I'd like to just slip them on and take 'em to school and stuff, and the shoes preferably shouldn't look totally atrocious in terms of design. I looked at the Nike Kukini, but I think that was a limited thing and the web thing was weird but I suppose scissors could fix them up. Also the Nike Roshe looked pretty decent but I'm not sure if those laces showcased need to be tied or not. Any help or just a point in the right direction will be appreciated. Thank ya.

  • How to write a movie review for Hamlet (2009)?

I've got a project for English class in which the class was given multiple options to choose from. I'm lazy and I procrastinate a lot, so the day before it's due I naturally chose what I think is going to be the easiest thing to do: write an extensive review for one of the filmed versions of Hamlet. I saw a bit of the one with David Tennant in class and I somewhat enjoyed it, so I'm set on doing that version. I'm writing it for the teacher obviously, who is Hamlet-crazed. Any tips on how to go about writing a thing like this? I think the minimum of the paper should be 2 pages. Thanks for any help, folks.

  • In what states is it legal to pull over where you want during a police stop?

If you ever get pulled over, I've heard it's safer to pull over at the nearest like gas station or populated area just in case. What states, if any, allow this? And if you could post the official civil code or whatever it might be, that'd be great. Thanks.

  • What "Seinfeld" the original show about "nothing?"?

They make it pretty obvious throughout the show that it doesn't have a real point, and there's no real plot. Was "Seinfeld" the first television series to do this kind of thing, or the first one to be successful doing it, or were their others shows with a similar basis that originated before "Seinfeld?"

  • Youtube glitch (can't access videos, or anything except home page)?

I'm using Safari on a Macbook. Now, I don't think I made any changes to my computer but I must have done something, because I can't load videos. I can go right to the home page of YouTube, but if I search for something or click on a video, it loads a new page with a bunch of this stuff (Any suggestions?):

  • Could someone explain relatively simply what quantum foam is?

A kinda have an idea of what it is. I feel like a description specified for someone who has no knowledge of anything for the sort would probably help more than a Wikipedia article. Of course, this isn't for me, this is for like uh my mom. Yeah. My mom.

  • Anyway I can add Spanish alphabet to Safari (not sure how to word it, will explain)?

I'm using Safari on a Macbook Pro purchased in the U.S. Therefore, everything's in English. Now I live in Mexico, but some of the letters aren't recognizable, such as the "n" with the accent or squiggly line or whatever. I'm wondering if there's a way to add the letters in to Safari so it understands them, all while keeping the English letters because I mainly use English sites.

  • Is this monitor (with HDMI inputs) compatible with my Xbox 360?

    Here's the screen: http://www.frys.com/product/6554993;jsessionid=mbm...

It says it has an HDMI cable, which is what I'm looking for. I have a Macbook so I won't be using it as a PC monitor. I only have an HDMI cable for the Xbox 360, so if I plug the cable into the Xbox and the monitor shown above in the link is it going to be able to display for the Xbox or am I missing something? Thanks folks.
