Fusion cultures
I'm a fan of Asian fusion films, fashions, and other culture, especially when it's made widely available for people from all cultures and communities to celebrate and enjoy as well. Interestingly, this therefore also requires the stable and continuing success of both cultures (ie. Asian & Other), unlike the present day problems currently being legitimately identified and referred to as part of the super-diversity concept. My Photo is from the British film Provoked, starring Aishwarya Rai (Bride & Prejudice, Pink Panther 2), Naveen Andrews (The English Patient, Lost), Miranda Richardson (The Crying Game, Blackadder), and Robbie Coltrane (Harry Potter films, Cracker), detailing the true story of an Asian contribution to the British law on domestic violence. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Provoked_(film)

To what extent do you think the availability of the internet, social media, and communications technology, have played a part in your changing awareness?
3 AnswersInvesting7 years agoHas your awareness of the dangers of inequality continued to increase during the recession?
Was it rising before the recession / banking crisis?
Has this continued during the economic problems?

2 AnswersPolls & Surveys7 years agoHow much would you want to vote for politicians being involved in making your community stronger then better?
The growth of community owned businesses could provide extra services, more jobs, better wealth distribution, and greater equality (ie stronger), leading to increased standards of living and improved quality of life (ie better) in all of our communities.
All this could be done whilst using an equality based business model that can be used by everybody globally, thereby helping to resolve some of the super-diversity issues currently being studied by many policy makers in the UK today as well.
With the amount of people that this could benefit, many politicians might therefore wish to get involved, but before approaching them you would have to ask how many people would vote for politicians supporting this type of activity in the present political circumstances?
Would you vote for a candidate supporting the above?

6 AnswersCurrent Events8 years agoWe all own the social enterprises, so when I write about them, should I call them Yours or Ours?
These businesses are community owned, so for example should I write:
What do you think of Your surplus makers, charities, and other social enterprises?
Or
What do you think of Our surplus makers, charities, and other social enterprises?
Are they Yours or Ours?
2 AnswersWords & Wordplay8 years agoChristine Hamilton said on the Wright Stuff that capitalism does well at feeding us all, but then ...?
... a few minutes later on the show, they covered the story about the Red Cross running a food aid campaign for Britain.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-24487146
The original conversation had been about nationalisation of power companies (rather than the more topical Royal Mail on the day their shares were listed on the stock market).
Aside from the glaring irony, do you have any thoughts on this?

Compared to the public or private sectors.
Also, is the glass ceiling less prevalent in the third sector?
1 AnswerGender Studies8 years agoWhat happens in our economy, that can be done by all other economies at the same time?
The answers should demonstrate which work and jobs we can do, without causing a rise in the drivers of inward immigration. ie. If everywhere can do a given activity at the same time, then people don't need to emigrate to do that work or job.
1 AnswerEconomics8 years agoCan a charity have a full black tie ball gown Xmas staff party, with tickets sold to help cover the cost?
Please note: this is about developing the pre-existing Staff Christmas Party / Event / Celebration, which gives the opportunity to say thank you to all the friends of the charity from that year (rather than any other fundraising balls, which various charities may host throughout the year).
Basically is this considered too extravagant for a charity to have its own full length and fabulous style event (ie tuxes and ball gowns) once a year, when the money could go on front-line service provision?
How would you structure the finances of this Christmas party, to make it an acceptable and desirable function for all concerned, including the donor / supporter community?
Thanks in advance for your input

3 AnswersCommunity Service8 years agoIf the government are seeking growth in RBS & Lloyds share values, is this public sector capitalism?
Could this approach also work in the Citizen sector; and for all 3 sectors, if they are all only seeking the growth of the working or trading capital, isn't it only the ownership structure or membership that is the significant difference?
3 AnswersCurrent Events8 years agoIs it time for government to accept that it's relationship with capitalism isn't working out?
Even Labour are now admitting to the need for Austerity. If capitalism was a boyfriend / girlfriend, surely most people would have dumped him / her by now!
