Battery went flat, no code card (2nd hand car). Radio serial GM050031762360 - A siemens VDO cdr 500 in a vauxhall astra 2003.
I know I could get this code from a VX dealer, but they are already rich enough!

the 2003 2.2 has suffered cam chain failure, so is a write-off. I don't need performance, so what other smaller vauxhall (or other) engines would fit, using the existing gearbox? What ancillaries, from ECU to starter, can't I swap onto the new engine?
