Why is there no big fruit?

Why is all fruit small enough to hold with your hand? I know we have berries and apples but I think watermelons are the biggest fruit I know of, and you can just hold it with two hands or one if you're strong. Why is there no big fruit?

What beverages pair well with expensive gourmet chocolates?

    Favourite answer:

For those who prefer white wine I’d suggest pairing a glass of your favorite bottle with a milk chocolate. The two flavors are mild enough to not overpower each other. The Milk chocolate collection chocolate truffles will pair well with a variety of wines. Featuring caramel, peanut butter, and the classic milk chocolate truffle this collection is the perfect mix of sophisticated and sweet.

Does eating lots of meat at childhood turn a person into a genius?

    Favourite answer:

    No.

Intelligence is a combination of genetic inheritance, and also of how much the child has been exposed to intellectual stimulation when they were young.  Diet has nothing to do with it.

Do you still eat Subway from time to time or did Jared ruin it for you?

    Favourite answer:

I do not eat at Subway.   Their food is low quality, especially the bread.

There was a Subway next door in the building where I work for 20 years and they finally went out of business.  There are at least four really good deli and bakery places within a one block radius where one can get a five times better sandwich for about $1 more than Subway - and support local small business too.

Just yesterday I had a bacon, avocado, tomato, lettuce, onion and Jarlsberg Swiss on toasted rustic sourdough for $10.   It was so big I split it with my work buddy.    Subway can SUCK IT.

Sanitizing a grocery item during Covid 19?

I have gotten my 2nd Pfizer Covid Vaccine 18 days ago(nearly 2 weeks ago). I work in retail. Whenever I take a break while at work I get snacks and a bottle of water or sport drinks. I sanitize the items before I open it to eat or drink. Now that I’ve been vaccinated twice for nearly 2 weeks I don’t need to sanitize the item anymore?

If you cut off the mold, Can you still eat the cheese?

    Favourite answer:

I've been cutting the mold off cheese and eating the rest for 40 years or so...fine so far. Now, with some soft cheeses, say mozzarella, you have to cut a little deeper to get rid of it all. With harder cheeses like cheddar I cut off all visible mold, including the fuzzy white spots that don't quite look like mold. Then I rinse off the cheese in warm water and let it dry before putting it back in the fridge. What can help cheese to stay mold-free longer is to wrap it in paper towel, put it in a ziploc bag, and dump some vinegar in, enough to soak the paper towel. Yes, you may get a very slight vinegar taste, but I've never found it enough to make any real difference. You could always rinse it before eating if you notice a vinegar taste.

Can you still become a chef if you have food allergy?

    Favourite answer:

Become a baker instead.  You can avoid most of the foods you are sensitive to bedause most of the ones you listed are not used in baking.  Except for wheat flour.  And kiwi/seedy fruits .. which you just don't use if you are sensitive to them.

And baker's do not taste the food nearly as much as a chef does .. of course, a bite of the finished product when you are designing a new recipe will be necessary.  And if your gluten-sensitivity becomes stronger, you could go into gluten-free baking.

Like chickpea curry?  It tastes fine but it's been in the fridge for almost a week or more.
