Is 6-hour layover enough for a short sightseeing?
Favourite answer:Assume you land on time. You're looking at an hour landing until you are in DC. You need to be back at DCA at least an hour before your flight (probably a little more depending on time of day and what type of security pass you may or may not have.) So that leaves you 3-4 hours of free time in DC around the Smithsonian. Assuming you don't have bags which may cause problems with security there, that is a lot of time. I would go for it and just not push the return. Decide 1 or 2 places I wanted to see and go for it.

Why are hotel rates so expensive in Washington DC?
Favourite answer:They are in demand, so they can charge those prices and receive bookings at those rates. There are a lot of people traveling to DC for work, for vacation, for medical care, etc. When there is a lot of demand and hotels are busy, rates are higher.
We usually stay just outside DC, somewhere in Arlington and along the Metro line. Rates are considerably lower, but it's still quite convenient to most things we want to see and do.

Can u go in the public go in the capitol building in Washington?
Favourite answer:The public can enter the US Capitol. If you do not book a tour, then you are very limited as to where you can visit in the building. Tours are free and can be booked in advance or on the day of your visit. They are timed though, so you may have to wait a while if you show up to book on the same day. You can also book in advance through your representatives in the House or Senate.

what is the nearest airport to the Phil embassy in Washington DC? I have to apply for a new passport and I need to fly there.?
Favourite answer:The closest airport is Reagan National. The Philippines Embassy is at 1600 Massachusetts Avenue. You can take a taxi/Uber from the airport to the Embassy or the Metro. If you take the Metro, take a Blue line train going toward Largo Town Center and get off at the Farragut West Metro Station (7th stop). The embassy is an 11 minute walk from there.
