    pH levels of (average values):

    Semen: 7.35 - 7.50

    Vaginal fluids: 4.50 (becomes neutral or alkaline upon menopause)

    There are several reasons why skin irritation could occur, here's a couple of them:

    a. Your husband's skin might be sensitive to your vaginal fluids (there are cases of that).

    b. The spermicidal products (if you use any) is causing hypersensitive reactions.

    It is best you consult a professional GP or Ob&Gyn doctor for futher evaluation.
