This happened with me mamny times , the best thing I do at that moment is just keep quite and find execuse to go to restroom for five minutes .

    Relax and come back .

You will be in your control.

    Believe me it works.

Everyone loses their temper on occasion. I guess the question is at what degree do you lose it? Do you get violent? Do you get verbally abusive towards people, or do you keep it to yourself?

I have found that if I am reaching the boiling point with my temper, I will take a step back, count to ten while taking some deep breaths. If I lose my temper with someone, and they are in the room at the time, I will most often leave the room, and take some quiet time without anyone else in the room.

Seeking silence works most always for me.

    Good luck to you.

Get out of there- go for a walk alone- staying in the same place will only make you more angry and resentful and you will find it difficult to control your anger. Going for a walk will give you some time to think about the whole incident in a better way- atleast so long as you are alone, you cant get angry or shout at anybody else!

Also like some people have already suggested, try and find a funny side to the whole argument. It definitely works and you will see things more reasonably- anger will only cloud your judgement and its hard to see one's fault when one is agree.

Once you are calmer, you will be better able to sort out the problem.

It's normal to lose ones temper.

However, if it happens frequently and perhaps violently, then its time to seek professional help - but that is in extreme cases.

If you are just trying to keep emotions bottled up, they'll eventually explode.

Look for alternative ways to tone down the temper.

Do you know what triggers your anger?

Look for the warning signs before you lose it and walk away from the situation so you can cool down.

Take up kick-boxing (long distance running, etc) and let those issues vent out at the workout.

Focus your anger on something else. Grab a pen and paper and express it in written words. Take up boxing and box one of those boxing bags to get anger out.

Anger and sadness are great for writing songs, poems etc. Using your own experiences.

If it doesn't work and you are getting worse even after trying everyones advice, then i would seek professional help to be on the safe side. Anger can lead to bad things.

Think of the last time you lost your temper! What good came out of it? Staying in control gives you power. It's sorta like a fighter....if he loses his temper, he will usually be beat!

Humor defuses a situation, but the best is to just walk away and remove yourself from the situation.
