ok i live in illinois i need some auto info.?
i have recieved a free car, its a late 60's vw beetle the problym is, is that it has no title. the guy that is giving it to me didnt recieve a title when he bought it. what would be the easiest way and how do i go about getting a title for this thing?

first you need a bill of sale then go to the dmv with the bill of sale and the vin number (vehicle identifaction number) and apply for a title then you will need a power of attourney paper which they will give you and you have to go to the last registered owner and have him sighn it over to you that paper alone is around 90.00 then the title fee to get the title in your name .. but beware if the original owner wants the car back and has the title he can reclaim it.. so you may want to go to the person you got it from and ask why no title and who he got it from and track it back that way and also the vw may have been stolen a long time ago so good luck..
