My new computer is driving me crazy, can someone please help me?

I keep getting a message on screen: Resolution Notice.

For best picture quality change resolution to...

it has two numbers below in square boxes to either disable the message or clear it. Trouble is I cannot run my pointer through the message. Hitting the numbers on my keyboard does not work and neither do the F keys.

I like the larger icons and larger printing with the resolution as it is. I have gone into the properties and changed it there and put it back to the way I like it to look.

The blue message will not go away and it is sending me round the bend. HELP!!!!

Update:

Brian M - what drop down box?

This sounds like the monitor settings - not software.

Have a look on the monitor itself - there should be some buttons like "menu" and "ok/select"

Press menu and it should bring up an on screen menu - you will not be able to click on it with the mouse as it is embedded in the monitor its self - it has nothing to do with windows.

Just look for factory settings/reset or an exit option... You will have a cpl of +/- or up and down buttons on the monitor.

Use these to navigate around the options.

This could be a result of a variety of things. But mostly it's software-related.

How to get rid of it could be a lengthy process. Basically you'll have to find out where the software is located on your computer. Is it used in conjuction with another application you installed? Is it used in conjuction with the video card software/drivers you installed? Is it spyware? Is there a disable feature/option?

Then the next step once you figure out the answers to above would be to uninstall it via an anti-spyware application (if it's spyware) or through the means you installed the application to begin with (via CD, DVD, etc.).

Hope this at least gives you a start to solving your problem...

use alt-tab together to choose the box and when box's top bar is highlighted use tab key to choose the disable option the chsen option will have a dotted rectangle inside the button.

or just press alt-f4 to close off the boxwhen ever it pops up.

Line up your pointer under the window with the answer you want.

Estimate the time needed to move up and click.

sure, quite while my buddies or family do it while they are no longer invited. i'm in many situations no longer staring at or reading something undesirable, yet i assume that's the experience of "What do you have chose?" form of ingredient, and "Why are you so freaking thrilling? Get a existence?"

I really wish I could help but I can't, I can only sympathise because we have three computers and they all have minds of their own and take it in turn to drive us crazy - isn't that what they were designed to do ?

er not at all sure but do you have to change some settings on the actual monitor its self to make the message stop happening?
