Anyone have any ideas about why I have woodlice wandering about the house?

I live on the edge of a developed area, overlooking fields and cows etc.

For some time now, I have noticed a fair number of woodlice wandering about in the house. I don't have a woodpile just outside or anything like that.

I vacuum every day. I have a cat, but she is mainly a house cat.

I came in from work at 02.00 and there were 5 of the creatures wandering about in the hall.

What, if anything, can I do???

Thank-you.

This is a primative solution I'm sure an exterminator would do a better job. Having been a poor man most of my life I have learned many simple cheap solutions to many big problems. Place a shallow pan like a cookie sheet with shallow sides on it on the floor where you see them. add some soapy water. Dish soap will do. Hang a small light bulb just over the pan of water. Turn every light in the house off except that one. Next time you come home from work check the pan. Let it run about 24 hours. This should give you an idea of how big the infestation is. If you don't have too many just use the pan and light trick for a while and you will see a decline in their numbers. If there are a large number and it does not decline, you have a bigger problem than the 4 you saw in the hallway. If that is the case you may need a pro....what does your yard look like? Try this pan and light bulb experiment out in your yard in different places...this may help you pin point the sourch of the problem.

Damp. I have them too. We had the damp treated when we moved in but I'm afraid they never go away. Although the damp is treated so as not to cause corrosion in timber and bricks the creatures still find damp in the earth under the floor boards etc. I've not found any way to get rid of them yet. Sorry!

i'd could ask what has replaced at your place recently. New boyfriend, new litterbox, moved nutrition dishes around, perchance have new friends or friends have been given a sparkling puppy? Is there yet another animal stunning around outdoors recently to make him sense territorial? Is he having regularly occurring bowel strikes and ingesting the comparable as regularly occurring? Is he dropping weight, vomiting, or pulling out his fur? Fleas? have you ever put in a sparkling equipment, carpeting, or fixtures? Hung a ceiling fan? I comprehend those sound like loopy motives, yet cats think of on an entire distinctive point than people. purely approximately something can disenchanted them....
