Is the full page advert in the Times today (p28) for 'SPURT' a mickey take?
The ad is a full page spread stating that we need to fly more (and stuff environmental consequences)
"SPURT calls upon Britain's nimby whingers to stop complaining about flight paths, noise and air pollution and the demolition of listed buildings. Be grateful you live so close to an airport"
"Nobody wants to hear about climate change, flooding and people dying in Africa. It's depressing and it doesn't affect most of us"
It has to be a joke??
Looked at the video, very clever!!

It is a joke, but brilliantly done - it's organised by Greenpeace and two other pressure groups. They have also set up a website:

I think it actually makes the point rather well......

That is madness. If it's not a joke, and especially if people aren't asking the same question that you are, well we really are losing the eency bit of control we believed we had..!!
Source(s): ps. Hey OriginalB, you're everywhere I look today. Would be rude not to say hello! - Anonymous1 decade ago
Are you joking, I didn't buy a copy today but if it is allowing adverts like that it must be desperate.
