Help identifying wedding items?
We've recently cleared out an attic and have found a box of wedding accoutrements from 1917 - some are obviously cake decorations, wax flowers, a veil; but there is one item we are a little puzzled by. It is a long swathe of delicate, embroidered, muslin-lined, silk cloth (too long to be worn as is) which is gathered at both ends. Could it have been a table or wall decoration, or would it have perhaps have been worn over a wedding dress, draped one end over each shoulder?
Any thoughts on relevant UK 1910's fashions?

Sounds to me as if it's something to be draped over a table or hung somewhere if it's decorative. A nice find. Could it be Victorian I wonder? They had such fussy stuff!
