iTunes has wiped all my songs again, can you help?

It sets itself as your default player, then if you store songs on an external drive and if it is switched off and it opens a file (automatically) you lose everything when it automatically saves when you close the program..

20000 ratings are gone how can i get them back without going to Apple HQ with a shotgun?

I hate Apple, they are total crooks with their low quality mp3 players that break so easily and are designed to be unrepairable.

Itunes is completely ****, its never been the same since they put that crap TV podcast nonsense in. Who the **** wants to watch TV anyway? This is a company who thinks they are hip because they are bringing out Beatles albums 40 years on - why don't they just leave itunes alone before i lose any more songs.

Even if you just have an email address for me to vent my anger at that would be a help.

Update:

I've still got all my tunes but i've lost all the ratings/info etc. It's gonna take about 50 years to put them all back how they were

Are your actual songs getting deleted or is it just information about them, like ratings etc.? Either way it sucks, try to back up frequently.
