Em, I have, yeah, I have. Continental on Shannon to Newark last summer. It was ok, but they use smaller Boeing 757s, meaning there's nearly 200 seats, but only 1 aisle, so it can seem kind of, em, cosy. But it's not so long of a flight, maybe 7 hours, and they do serve a meal and show a fillem or 2, so I can't say much bad about Continental. Delta fly a larger aeroplane, a 767 with 2 aisles, but for such a short trip, I'd choose on whoever's the cheapest.

I use to be Aer Lingus crew, operating this route.

When I was working there EI ( Aer Lingus) was a great operator.

I am aware that this has changed since 9/11, and it going budget.

    There is a direct flight, EI 111, SNN-JFK .

If not you can go via DUB.

Not sure re the US carriers.

I have flown Delta internally in the States and they were ok, but that was a short flight, so no idea re flights over an hour or so for this carrier.

    good luck...

Continental is better than Delta, although Delta's not the worst. It's too bad Ae Lingus is expensive as they are good. But I'd go with Continental Airlines.

I've flown with all the companies you mention (I am Irish too, though I live in Italy). I found Delta and Continental to be fine. The best was American Airways though. Check out their prices.
