I have a feeling I've got mild sunstroke and definitely sunburned through my hair yesterday. Any advice?

I'm after a (preferably natural) remedy for a sore noddle, inside and out, and the random wooziness.

(And yes, I know it was silly to get burnt and hot but I was even wearing a hat, and when your job's outside you can't always skive off just coz it's hot!)

Sensible answers much appreciated...

    OH, I am so sorry. I've been there....

    Keep hydrated -- drink lots of water.

    Also, shampoo your hair as you normally do, but be gentle -- do not rub too hard.

    Your scalp may actually peel if your scalp got burned...and it will look like big chunks of dandruff (sorry), but there's not much you can do about it. Just be conscientiousness adn remove them when you see them.

    Keep wearing the hat.

    Stay hydrated and stay cool. Try to stay out of the sun until your burn is healed, you do not want your skin overheating so soon.

    The bad part about sunstrokes is you are more likely to have them from now on. Be sure to keep plenty of water with you so you can cool off by drinks and by splashing it on your body.

    Try to get into the shade as much as possible.

    Be careful about the amount of caffiene and alcohol you drink.

    You probably don't have a heat stroke- that is when your body goes into shock. What you probably do have is heat exhaustion- which can include lots of wooziness, clammy and cold skin to touch, and slower heart rate. Heat stroke is when skin is EXTREMELY hot to touch (and not just because of sunburn), irritated easily, lethargic, dizzy, rapid heart beat, and can quickly spin to death if untreated. Heat exhaustion is easily treated, but can lead to a heat stroke- so take my advice.

    Go to a cool, shady place and sit down. Take very small sips of water every other minute, making sure that the sips are indeed very small but that you continually sip for as long as it takes. Sponge bathe yourself with a cool cloth. Just take general steps to cool yourself and hydrate.

    And if you are outside for long periods of time, make sure to drink water like there is no tommorrow. If you get any symptoms of a heat stroke that I mentioned above, you should call 911 and lie down. But the best way to prevent that is to recognize when you are suffering from heat exhaustion, and hydrate yourself.

    Had that myself after a days fishing on my boat found flat coke or Pepsi is good for re-hydrating oneself and it is also good if you have had a stomache bug cos apparently they contain electrolytes that are help-full in the re-hydration process! This was an idea that my mother told me so I tried it and it seemed to work for me she is a nurse so I tend to listen to her about such things hope it works for you as it did for me but the most important thing is to drink plenty of water

    Drink fluids like water, Gateraide is a good choice. Don't drink alcohol or coffee.

    The hat is a good idea. A cool, shady place would help. Aspirin and lots of water will help with the headache and wooziness. Rub aloe gel or lotion on the burned skin. It will soak it right up and sooth the burning and moisturize the skin and help it heal and maintain a tan.

    sucks to get burn or be out in the heat but the best way is too drink more work slow take more breaks if you burn try vinegar for the burn it will take the heat out and toughing up the skin some what.. old wise tale that work... ive never had a in door job
