I gave and received them as a teenager, but to be honest, I think they look awful now.I noticed a woman at the supermarket last night because she had huge marks all over her neck and chest.She was a big lady, wearing shorts and a vest, and she stank of BO.Very classy!

Lovebites? I've always called them hickeys.

I'd have to say that hickeys are for show. This indicates a need to overcompensate and is a sign of immaturity.

I don't about other people but I don't like to have any kind of bite on my neck, be it a love bit, a dog bite or an alligator bite.

I find them funny! I only really give them to girlfriends or boyfriends to annoy them!

I don't do it often, unless they ask me to (in which case somewhere else on the body is preferable to the neck).

They are pretty tacky yeah... but even when I was at school they were unnacceptable - I remember one girl coming in with about five of them around her neck, and she was one of those geeky girls too... it's always been wrong!
