American girls dolls recall on lead accecories?
I was searching the American girl Doll website (to see, out of interest, if they were made in america) and found at the bottom of their page in tiny red print... recall information. Yes you guessed it some of the accecories contain lead. American girl inc is a division of Mattel inc. Its not on the Mattel product recall site with it being a division of the company. So I thought you all might like the link to see if you have the recalled items.
The dolls themselves have not been recalled but certain childrens jewellery accecories have. It would be interesting to know if people would stop buying the dolls knowing that its a division of Mattel. So many people see Mattel as the enemy now and are refusing to buy their products.

I won't stop buying their products, they didn't do this on purpose, just poor quality control. It does kind of tick me off that they saw the problems with the magnets in the Polly Pockets and fixed them long before they issued a recall on the affected toys...
I actually kind of blame myself. I wondered how safe they were the first time we bought one with the magnets. I should have trusted my instincts. There's no way to have known about the lead paint though.

Thanks for the heads up. My daughter has a necklace with Kit on it; I will have to talk with her about returning it as she loves it! That said, American Girl is releasing a brand new historical doll next week and I'm sure Mattel doesn't want any bad press to interfere with her sales.
