Ovarian cancer?

My 89 year old mother has stage three ovarian cancer. I have requested no intervention except for pallative pain relief. Her other major systems, heart, blood pressure, kidneys are still functioning fine. She is very thin and wants to die. She has had it about two months. How long will she live?

I am so sorry about your mother, I lost my mother a year ago after a 3 year battle with ovarian cancer, so I know what you are going through. It is really hard to say how long your mother will survive with this, as you know, ovarian cancer is extremely hard to diagnose and treat because by the time it is detected, it is advanced. It tends to spread to other parts of the body. Treasure the time she has left with you and give it to God.

Each case is different, so being able to tell you how long she will live is difficult. To be able to get a "better idea" you need to have an indepth discussion with her physician. Even the physician cannot predict.

I wish you peace and understanding.

Absolutely no one can answer this question, not even her doctor. No one knows when someone will die . .at best you will get a guess. It's possible that she may live longer than you suspect and pass away from something totally unrelated.

Anyway, talk to her doctors, but no one really knows.
