What do you think about non-UK nationals being able to vote?

I am not a UK national, but as a citizen and passport holder of a Commonwealth country, I am entitled to vote in local and general elections in the UK. What do you think about this?

Update:

Don't get me wrong - I'm here legally and have been so for the last 8 years or so.

Everyone who lives here should be legally forced to vote, otherwise we are run by a minority and the democratic process fails everyone.

The Government is not simply the party inpower it is the whole elected house, so all MPs of all parties are 'in Government.

Continued failure to vote means that some MPs are elected that should not be, the compacency of the British voter returned John Major to power, the people least likely to vote are those most likely to vote Labour.

Anyone not voting should be fined, it is a deriliction of your social duty, people fought in this country to vote, other people elsewhere would very like the opportunity to vote

Once again I'm appalled at our Government complete lack of consideration to the thoughts and rights of the British people. I would like to say English because I no longer know what a Brit is. I don't think that any non UK national should be in titled to any rights in this country until they have contributed to it through labour and taxes for at least ten years. They get our of their own country because or one thing and another and I'm sorry for them, but do not come and claim rights to interfere with us. For years I have tolerated whats been happening here but lets stop the parasites which are interfering with our way of life.

Brits who are resident in Spain were allowed to vote in recent local elections. They even have their own councillor now.

EU nationals resident in this country are entitled to vote subject to certain criteria. This is also the case for Brits in other EU countries.

If you are there legally, and contributing go the good of the country through the payment of taxes, then you should be entitled to vote.

If you live here, pay your taxes and contribute to the economy, of course you should be able to vote. You are from the Commonwealth, after all.

If you pay tax here and legally use public services then you are entitled to vote.

if you have settled in this country and intend to raise your family here, then you should be able to vote. if you continue to hold two nationalitys then no! you should not be entitled to vote for both countrys.

I don't see the problem providing its okay to vote in any other country were you may reside.
