Xbox 360 - NTSC to PAL???

OK! Peeps - not for me this one - friend is asking.

Anyone know if PAL games can be played on an original US Xbox 360 NTSC format - or will it need some 'modification' - They've just come back from 2 years in the States and have a virtually unused US Xbox360 and want to get some games here in the UK - Pal ?? All advice gladly listened to for them -

    You'll have to mod it but that's risky and if you're an internet gamer it can get you banned from Xbox Live.

    I'm not sure. I know my Quicktime videos won't show in the states since I recorded them in PAL. Do you know anyone there that has a Xbox360? If so, you could borrow some games from them just to check it out before going out and buying something that might not work.

    yu can play original games in a Pirated xBox but yu kant play PAL games in Original XbOx

    Too expensive.

    I have one but I didnt pay for it.

    I used one of those freebie sites like on NBC.
