Italian Birth certificate from 1879?

Hello Yahoo Answerers

I am trying to find the cost to obtain an italian Birth certificate from the Commune of Rome.

This is not a recent Birth Certificate but somebody born in April 1879

If I ask for it from the UK how much should I send the Commune Office?

Does anybody know if you can do this on line?

My trouble is I don't understand written Italian, so the forms, wherever they are on the web site, are difficult to fill in, can anyone assist?

I did post a similar enquiry recently and got a very specific response from a Dr. ?, but I cannot seems to get back to his answer so that I can thank him and see if any more help can be given

Thank you if you can help

to the left side of your question is your "avatar" or little picture.. if you click that, it takes you to your profile (or someone else's). Once in your profile.. look towards the lower part of the page, where there is a list or summary of answers that you have given, and a TAB for questions that you have asked. I just checked, and I find your prior question and answers.

Right at this moment, the question from you "closed" and you did not choose the best answer, so it rolled over into voting. You can vote on it now... normally, you have the option to select which is most useful to you. When a question is in voting, however... the person is not identified. You have access to the info, but not the person who replied.

After voting closes, the question goes to resolved, and you can see the avatar for that person. NOW.. you can click to see his/her profile, just as your own. Yahoo does give the option of staying anonymous, so his profile might allow email contact.. or it may not. The same applies for you... my personal suggestion is if you use answers a lot, someone may have a better answer for you down the road.. if you do not have email enabled, no one can reach you except at the time your question is 'open'. I do notice that this question, you included your direct email, which is optional.

Here is an English site on how to order vital records from Italy. I really am not sure when they originated birth certificates.. you will need to reach them to verify this.
