Sundial Assembly?

I am building a vertical sun dial on a wall that faces due South, but don't know the angle or degree required to position the pointer so that it's shadow will give the correct time throughout the year.

Can anyone please shine any light on this problem, or better still, cast a shadow over it !

the angle is the same as your latitude. In the UK it is between 50 and 53 degrees (thats how flat it should be, so about 40 degrees out from the wall). It dont work with daylight savings, so it would only be approximate, but set it up for the summer, as it wont work in the winter anyway....
