Family members blabbing about personal issues?

I told a family member (on my husband's side) something in confidence recently. Well, come to find out, this person went and blabbed to another family member, who told another one, and so on! Well of course, it got back to my husband, who is extremely upset now! Should I confront this person, knowing they will most likely deny they ever said anything, or just let it go and learn my lesson about telling ANYONE anything???

Update:

Just to clarify something: what I told to the family member was not anything regarding problems my husband and I were supposedly having- we are NOT having any problems. For someone to go onto this forum and just assume that and sound judgemental is very sad... Why would someone automatically guess that what I told this person was something negative? On the contrary, it was something very positive, but I guess my husband didn't like the fact that I shared this bit of info with a member of his family!

Well you really shouldn't have confided something about your husband to a member of his family. I'm not surprised it was repeated. Just tell the person you know they told others and had expected it to remain between the two of you. Don't go telling personal stuff to anybody unless you want to take the risk of it being repeated...which 9 times out of 10 it will be at some point.

say to this family member that you are aware that they have been talking about this personal issue that your just making them aware that you know and that they are not welcomed back into your home. from that day on DO NOT tell anyone on your husbands side ANYTHING regardless of the situation DO NOT. and no dont let igo.

hmmm i did wrong.. rule number one... u never ,never talk bad or critize ur husband with any of his family memebers or friends.. they will always take sides with him.. second.. the anger from ur husband is there.. u should learn to communicate with him.. and not go on blabbing about him..u broke the rules of trust and respect.. this was ur mistake.. the damage is done.. as far as confronting this person.. wont help.. learn from ur mistakes .. and good luck with ur husband...
