Do you wonder why the people at Y/A?
don't appear to read all the offensive questions, foul language, overtly descriptive sexual content, all of which are surely unacceptable as children have access to this,or if they do they ignore it, but if you answer with an innocent comment rather than their interpretation of an 'answer' you get penalised?????? What a crazy world we live in!!!
Hi and thank you for taking the time to reply. I think what gets to me is that the awful language and sexual content stays but they remove something they consider not to be an answer but a comment!! I don't have young children, but I personally don't like to see it. I have to say since Y/A removed my reply its made me think twice about bothering to come back. I thought it was a nice idea to help others but I can see now its more about Yahoo ratings etc than genuine help. Slap for me for being naive!!!

There are no people at Y/A. There are only programed filters. How's that for crazy world. We are being control by machines.

You said it well. If you look at closed answers you will notice the obvious wrong answer is often chosen by vote. But, you can find a better one in the list below it.
It is true that a few people can spoil it for the rest. The ability to report a bad question or answer is nice, but the damage has been done by the time it disappears, since the majority of action occurs in the first 15 minutes.
It is not possible to protect young people from the world around them. The only thing that can be done is to teach them how to filter the good from the bad themselves.

it is a crazy world and i'm sure it will not get better soon!
However if someone lets their child do what ever on the internet there needs to be more guidence at home don't you think????
it's not the trolls fault for saying bad things that will happen but if your a parent don't let your kid go to sites that has trolls whom use offensive answers or questions!
if i had a kid theyw ould not go to this site for the reasons you listed!
and if he did i would be right next to him!
I know we can control everything but i can block the pc to only go to the sites i allow.. grant you if he goes to a library or a friends house he can but again if your involved in your childs life you will not have all the craziness just some!

This is why I now hid my questions and answers. Trolls just go through them and report them all.
